cdcoxwell Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 My shee hasn't been cranked since 93' or 94'. I replace the statar, took TORS off and cleaned carbs. AND SHEE FREAKIN CKRANED ON THE FIRST KICK. I can not believe this. Shee's not idleing that great, but shee is running. UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABEL. Any suggestions on what to do to her since shee hasn't been running in almost 12 years Quote
MULLET~BOY Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 just wondering why hasn't it been ran in so long Quote
cdcoxwell Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 way back when, the throttle cable broke and I was unable to spend the money on her at that monment. I also was out of town for about a yr. When I got the cable and tried to crank her, NOTHING. To make a long story short, I was told by a couple of yamaha machanics that it would take around $1500-$2000 just to get her running again. I didn't know if I wanted to put that much money in her. My brother was killed in a car accident aroung 92' and that is how I came into possessing the shee. So, oneday I just said the hell with them all, I will figure out how to fix her myself. It is the only thing that I have of my brothers and I am going to restore her no matter what it takes. It was the statar, $135 latter and shee is somewhat running. Cary Quote
MULLET~BOY Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 thats pretty cool that it was your bros and your restoring it glad to hear you got it running Quote
cdcoxwell Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 The gas is not dripping but pouring out of the right carb drain tube. A member suggested that I tap it w/a screwdriver thinking that the float might be stuck, and I did and still gas pouring. Any suggestions. Quote

You should take the carb off, take the bowl off, and then maybe even take the float assembly off and clean it. A spec of DUST will cause the floats to stick open. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 yup, make sure them puupies are real clean, u flushed out the old oil n shit and put in fresh right? Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 if its been sittin that long id just pull the carbs and clean them very well. this should solve your problem. also get an inline fuel filter, that will keep most shit from gettin into your carbs. Quote
