banshdog Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 I started a topic in the mods and repairs about these things, just wondering what every one thinks of them. is it worth it? should i put 2 on? Quote
Schizo Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 If 1 is good then 2 must be better I have 2 on mine along with billet water impeller, coolhead and engine ice in the radiator and shee runs nice and cool! Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 I have thought of marketing these. I've made 2 of them, just for the hell of it type of thing, but do they work??? Quote
bronco91shee Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 ive got one and a new impeller and enigine ice. mine runs cooler, but havent beat on it hard yet since i up graded. im gettin a new head this summer, should fix it for good. idk what they cost, my dad just made like 8 for our group outta aluminum. ours rnt to spec, but they do seem to help alil. they r extremly colse to the ones u can buy. i would do 2 for sure. peace out Quote
cdw Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 waste of money! you'd be lucky to cool it .5 of a degree. You wanna run cooler, buy a rad or add a core to your stock one. Now that makes a difference. Quote
wesw Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 my brother in law has 2 on his bike run 20 deg cooler than a bike with just stock rad. but with my toomey rad, impeller, im way below him Quote
ngelati Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 I have a 20 fin cooler on mine. I Dont know if does any for cooling, but it looks trick !!! Quote
ledofthezep Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 I've heard the 20 fin coolers do work alright, like 5-10 degrees cooler with them...but anything smaller than the 20 fins don't do much, if anything. I dunno...I figure if ya put a 20 fin cooler on the rad line going to the motor and another going to the radiator from the head I bet you'd see a drop in temp. Some's better than none I guess. Quote
ikikazz Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 i got 1 25 fin (FOR 15 bucks) and a 8 fin which can with the bike he hadn't put it on yet cost him 25 and min runs like ice Quote
John19 Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 What is engine ice? and where are some links to these cooling devices? Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 I'm going to make a 100 fin flexible hose. Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 I'm going to make a 100 fin flexible hose. I'm going to modify my frame so the coolant can flow through the whole thing, and just use it as my inline cooler. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 , i like the idea stan. engine ice is a coolent, just one that "promises" to make it run 20 degree's cooler, check ebay for the inline coolers, they go for cheap on there, www.jlatvproducts.com www.rockymountaintatv.com should have the billet water impellor, bigger radiator, inlines and engine ice Quote
