I think that someone needs to make a cover to fit the air filter adapters like the Noss or Pro Flow, so that the air box can be hosed out without worrying about getting water down the intake.

I know I'd pay about $20 for something like that, what about you?

I wouldn't. It's not a real bad idea, but it's just about as fast to just take the airbox out. I don't spray mine anyway, I use a wet rag. I don't think that air filter oil is going to spray out, it takes a little scrubbing.

*EDIT* Sometimes I don't know what I'm thinking. The airbox is NOT easy to get out, I forgot you have to take the rear fenders off. I still don't think spraying would work though.

You use gas to clean it out of the filter or the airbox? It will gradually eat away at your filter if you're using it for that, but shouldn't hurt the airbox.

fast, easy, cheap. take the air filter off and cover it with a plastic bag and use a thick rubber band to hold the plastic on the adapter. as long as your not blasting the plastic with water it will be good enough to clean out the air box.

yea as a extra precaution before you put the plastic over the filter, put a rag in the intake, there are companies that make these covers for 20 bucks, www.rockymountainatv.com has em i belive or www.denniskirk.com

I cut my airbox off...no more gooey mess to deal with. I usualy just get an old plastic bag that's laying around in my truck frome somthing I bought during the week and wrap it around my filter.
