on the stock ignition we tested, it showed at low rpm's it fired one cylender at a time on both sides, like its supose to. as the rpm's increased it would put the spark to one side only. a little higher in the rpm and it would go back to normal. and then again to one side at max rmp. after seeing that i dont think i would ever want a stock setup again. but we only tested one setup, could have only been that system that did it.

350 , Was this testing done on a stock engine or drag ported alcohol burning monster ?

I would think that if the stock ignition system is acting as you describe that the system has some thing wrong with it.

Does the dyna ignition use a battery source ??

If the stock ignition is dropping out one of the plugs at varying rpms , several things could cause this.....

If the dyna ignition is working fine on the same engine it may be masking a problem the stock unit cannot over come.

How about some more details.

How many cranks did you go through? :yank:

the guy that did the testing had a banshee crank end set up on an angle grinder with a dial to controll the rpm's. all we tested was one stock setup and 1 pvl setup. for the testing to be acurate we need to test more stock units. the angle grinder would turn up tp 15,000 rpm's, well more than a banshee runs. but the stock ignition came off a running banshee so who knows.

I have been running the dyna ignition for awhile now. I had the degree key before I put the the dyna in. I could tell a big difference over the degree key with the dyna. You were asking if the dyna has a battery source, I don't know for sure but I would think it has some kind of a internal battery to remeber the power curves that are set in it. If anybody knows anything different about please let me know.
