oldturtle Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Here is a first time Banshee owner saying Hi to ya all. I have been hanging out on this site for several weeks trying to deceide if a Banshee will fit my needs. I have been riding 2-stroke dirt bikes for many years but I am essentially new to quads. My primary use to begin with will be easy dune areas and easy forest roads and trails. So I finally deceided why not jump right in and get something I can really have fun with so here I am with a Banshee. If it turns out to be too much of a handfull I can always go back to my 2nd choice, one of the 400 4-strokes. I found a like new blue 2000 with FMF Gnarly pipes and Turbine Core II silencers. Otherwise, including the air box, it is totally stock. Owner never even pulled off the warning stickers. I will be looking for a deal on sand tires and wheels. Also need to make sure the jetting was corrected for the pipes. Need to check out the air box and should be good to go. I won't be good to go for several more months until my broken leg and knee joint heal and rehab from a Dec dirt bike get off. The many posts about using the Banshee for trail riding were a big help in my final decision. Thanks to all who have contributed to this site. I now know that after a little learning curve the Banshee can be used for more than sand drags and oval racing. John Quote
sheerdr Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Hi. Welcome to the life of owning a banshee. There is going to be many years of joy it will bring you. Good luck. Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Welcome to the site and to the Banshee. I bought mine in '98 with out ever riding one. I saw one picture of my buddy pulling the front tires off the line at Sand Mountian UT, and I was hooked. I stewed over it for a month or two, and the yamaha dealer was next door to the gym I where I was lifting at the time, so I saw them day after day. One day I couldn't take it. I've never wanted to be with out it since. I was sad the day we had to sell my wifes banshee, but there is no way in hell I'll ever sell mine. I'll work at 7-11 if I have to. Its one of the best things I've ever done in my life. Quote

BenBB Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Welcome oldturtle. If you ride 2-stroke dirt bikes you made the right choice with a Banshee, nothing else is close. I now know that after a little learning curve the Banshee can be used for more than sand drags and oval racing. The only thing mine doesn't like is mud & water...ANYTHING else is fair game. Quote
