thecabinboy Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Hey I just got me some new Haulers size 22x11.00x10 10 blade, My old set was 20x10x10 8 blades now I was happier than a pig in shit till my buddy (dozer98) looks at em and says they are only for drags and that they are not good for bowls, trails and general duning. Is this true? Do I need to have the flat design? Quote
Lepew Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Run 'em. Looks like you need some traction anyway. It's rider preferance. Quote
Big Blue Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 i would run them it looks like youll have enough motor. Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 If it ends up you don't like them, I'm sure to can find some one to give you good money for a barely used set. I'm sure you'll like them. I know people with just pipes and a filter that have ran these tires (except on 8" rims) and they work great. Quote
DUNEDEMON Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 My experience has been that the "flat" or "round" design does not make that big a diference for general duning. I find the biggest diference to be the amount of paddles, wheel width, wheel diameter. Going from 8 to 10 is a big jump. I personally do not like any more than 8 paddles for duning but it all comes down to personal prefrence and riding style. I would imagine you will find yourself clutching the bike more to keep it in the power-band in the dunes with the 10 paddle, it's a lot of tire. Quote
rzcolobanshee Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Your friend is a dumbass, I have exact same tires and if you have any riding skill at all you can do regular duning just fine Quote
Dextreme Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 You will find that with 22's (and proper gearing), you will be able to make it up some sand hills that will leave those running 20's high-n-dry on their rear carrier. I love my 22's for play riding way more than my 20's. It took about a day to get used to the extra hookup and fun. Quote
lincster Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 You will be fine. Duning with haulers is a little tougher, you have to push the back end of the bike around, but once you get used to it, they work fine. I am more into duning than drag racing so I run the Skat Trak Edges on my bike. Quote
jbirdman Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Hey folks, I'm currently running 20" Sand Devils and I actually like them quite a bit. They're straight blade, but not as severe as Haulers so I can still slide around quite a bit and have fun playing when I'm not hill-climbing. But I want to go to a 22" tire exactly for the reason Dextreme mentioned above - sand clearance. I tried a buddy's 21" Haulers and didn't like the fact that I couldn't slide around as easily as I wanted. So, as a compromise, I'm thinking about 22" Edge by Skat Trak. Basically I'm looking for a 22" tire that is still a good play tire without compromising my hill-climbing too much. lincster...others...any comments would really be appreciated. TIA! Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I dont know if they make the edge in 22. If you like to slide around a little bit more get one less paddle with the 22-11-8's. In order to turn you need to slip the tires. Quote
