Matt96banshee Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 I was just wondering if anyone could help me on which tires to purchase for my banshee in the sand. Basically all i have for mods are .50 over wiesco pistons and T5 pipes. I was also wondering if the straight blade or V would be a better buy. I also need to know which tires are best for my raptor as well. Thanks Quote
Ducman Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 For best Hookup for dragging or hill climbs - straight paddle: Skate Track - Haulers - 20x10x10 - 8 paddle For best all around dunning - v paddle: ITP - Sand Stars - 20x10x10 Same for both bikes Quote
Lepew Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 Depends what you want to do. To slide around a lot go with the v paddles. If your planning to do any more mods get a 20-10-10 9 paddle hauler. The eights are fine for stock but don't have the hook up when you start adding more power. The raptor needs 20-10-10 9 paddle haulers. Four strokes need the hook up to transfer the torque. Quote
yamaha350 Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 20x10x10 paddles dont hook woth shit compared to a tire with more profile like 22x11x8. for the banshee i would go with 22x11x8 8 paddle, but if you are ging to do more mods go to a 9 paddle. Quote
Dextreme Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 The 22x11x8's will hook up more than the 20x10x10's, but with 22's you are also going to have to plan to drop the gearing down. Quote
Matt96banshee Posted February 22, 2004 Author Report Posted February 22, 2004 Thanks for all the input, i am going to the dunes for the first time so i don't know what to expect. If i was to go with the sand stars by itp would that be good enough to drag race and for roosting at the top of the dune or is a straight paddle the only way to really hook up. Quote
