So went to pull my nerf bars, basically threw my 3/8 e ratchet on it and I thought the bolt snapped. Sadly I was not that lucky. I thought the frame had threads for the bolts, obviously not cause if I try to pull the bolt its like there's a nut behind it/guessing there is and I broke the spot welds. Any creative ideas that dont require me cutting the face off? You guys think I can cut the head of the bolt off put a couple dabs of JB weld and hopefully it sticks to the inside of the frame? I plan on powder coating end of this season aka I'll cut the face off then just trying to avoid a ugly paint spot all season. I cant post pictures here theyre too large but the bolt wiggles side to side and in and out, just not out all the way out. Thanks in advancee

Sorry for taking so long been hovering around 0 degrees all February. Ended up cutting the head off the bolt but yeah the headless bolt just spins and acts as if theres a nut or thread that broke free14bf5346ad0fe4ad4fad08df606fdee6.jpg9bd17105c904ae83ef9f162d4ad34819.jpg

The internal nut broke off. You have a couple options.. The BEST fix is to buy the JDS kit and replace all that OEM junk. If you can cut and weld, it's well worth the money.

Otherwise, you can get a piece of 3/8" all thread and run it through the frame. You'll have to nut both sides which means you'll have to drill out the other side.

Thank you. What i thought but was hoping I could get lucky till next winter/it was just a thread and not a spot welded nut... gotta love start of the season issues lol. Best part the new foot pegs wont fit without different brackets and even then I feel will make shifting feel awkward. Thanks again for that link though!
