Motor hole

I was doing my carbs when I saw this hole is this normal, if not what is it, will I need to buy a new motor case?

 

It’s located next to the left carb, the carb where the choke is. Right under the carb a little bit to the left

 

, right next to the engine number.

Drain hole so crap doesn't collect on top of the case and/or run into the stator area if the wiring boot has been breached. That hole is one of two.

Hard to tell in the pic, but there are  drain holes in the case. Look at it from the bottom & see if its in line with what u r talking about.  Most people discover it  when carbs leak & it drips off of one of the bottom case nuts
