i bought a set of wheel spacers off of a buddy a while ago and forgot i had them. he had a raptor so i knew the bolt pattern would be the same.

 

i want to test them out, and i'm trying to figure out how to install them. I think they are durablue Rear spacers. they came with 8 long bolts, and 8 spacers. My Rear hubs have studs. i would guess i need to get the studs out of the hubs first.

 

what is the best way to get them out?

 

once they are out, how do the bolts that came with the spacers thread onto the hub? the holes aren't threaded are they? Or do i 'through bolt' them with nuts on the other side??

 

and what side do the little 1/4 inch spacers go?

i think i may have figured it out....

 

i think i need to feed the bolts in through the back side of the hub.....just like replacing the studs that are there.

 

but how do i get the original studs out? brut force?

IVE SEEN HUBS THAT HAD THE STUDS PRESSED IN THERE AND ONES THAT HAVE A VERY SHORT SECTION OF REVERSED THREADS THAT JUST SCREW IN THERE TO THE POINT WHERE THE ONLY THING STICKING OUT IS THE THREADED PART THAT THE WHEEL AND LUG NUT GOES ON.

i dont know exactly how to get the studs off but i had spacers on my shee before...and i took them out so i do know that they do go on by "through action" as you put it...they just go through and stay on with the screw on the other side....

They press out of the hub - don't hit them out or your threads will be junk. Also don't get any air with your spacers on. Either the spacer, your axle or your splindles will fail and then you will - eventually this will happen

I would suggest a new axle. Like was said before eventually the studs will fail as the bending load on them is increased because of the spacer. The further you space them out the worse it gets. I cringe everytime when I see those ricer cars on the road that have their tires off set to the outside of the fenders. I just can't help but wonder when their wheels are going to fall off so I avoid being near them when driving.

Best method I've found for removing the studs is to remove the wheel, then re-thread the nut back onto the stud until the top of the nut is flush with the stud. Grab a small torch or a Zippo can sorta work in a pinch. Heat up the stud to get the loctite to let go then TAP the stud out with a hammer by hitting the nut square on the head. Usually if you heat up the stud enough it will only take a few mild taps before you'll see progress. Once its out a bit you can remove the nut and one or 2 small taps will push the stud out the rest of the way. That said, don't use spacers unless you're just dying to see how much it'll hurt to lose a wheel while riding.

i think the guys that are having them break lugs nuts are getting loose. I've posted too many times about mine never breaking but I put mine through hell 50ft doubles 90ft triples 70 ft tables 80 yd whoop sections( big whoops, almost rythmns) 30yd small peaky whoops and mine havne't broke.
