  1. This is a used D&D Billet Power Head w/ 20cc domes and orings. I used this head on my banshee and it gave it alot of power over stock. one piston started to detonate and the piston material schrapnel hit the inside of the one dome. I polished it smooth and it should work fine as is. New these are $300 w/ domes...... http://www.ddracing.com/Banshee-Billet-Power-Heads-detail.htm?productId=-385966&browse=-42455&shopBy=-11291&catalogId=-3045 I'm asking $160 shipped anywhere in the US.
  2. have a friend looking for FMF's or PC's with silencers in polished finish. let me know what you have.
  3. i also had this problem. it was due to a bent frame. the part that the steering stem mounts to was bent back towards the seat a little bit. I would have to loosen the stem bolts to give it more clearance to come out. I just fixed it a couple weeks ago with a small hydraulic bottle jack. after you get the tank out you can put a piece of wood across the frame where the tank sits, the bottle jack the bent section back into position.
  4. i'm trying to get my shee back together....so i can get some pics of her in a bikini for the contest. Will it count even if my quad dont got a motor, and i sit her on it and push her down the street
  5. AHHHHH did someone mention boat??? i'm all about high performace boats. This is mine....currently have it for sale, looking for something bigger with twin motors. This has a 575hp blower motor.
  6. i'm the administrator at my company and we run a corporate version of norton on our server which checks all incoming mail when it arrives. it also runs realtime protection on each machine connected to the server. In the past 2 days i've had over 2000 emails come in with this new virus, and it's getting worse. just had about 100 in the last hour. One thing to do if you are using Outlook, you should turn off your auto preview pane (if you have it enabled). This is the bottom half of the inbox window which allows you to read (preview) your emails. This essentially opens the email and can run the code in the virus. So turn that off and delete any incomming mail with attachments. most emials that i've been seeing with the virus have an 'undeliverable.....' in the subject line. common case of address spoofing. you should also have a virus program running at all times, and if your not using web based email, have the virus software configured to check your incomming email on your Outlook.
  7. i had the same problem a couple weeks ago. i couldn't get the carrier to pivot any further, even though it looked like it had more room to go. My problem was my brake rotor was hitting my AC rear skidplate. i had to slide the skidplate forward so the rotor wouldn't hit.
  8. unplug the TORS from the black box above the left pipe (under gas tank). this will eliminate the tors completely.
  9. sounds like a problem with the e-brake switch on your clutch lever. check that wiring (if you still have it connected).
  10. i have stock banshee shocks off a 2000 with shock covers....in good condition. let me know
  11. If you lathe one piston, it will be out of balance from the other. More stress on the crank. You can get a piston for $65. How long has it been since a top end rebuild anyway. That piston may work fine.. I just don't do things that way. I bet it would work... but is it worth it to find out !!! i was only thinking on using emery on fine grit sandpaper on the piston and dome to 'clean it up' rather than using tooling and taking off material. the top end is less then 3 minutes old. From what I'm seeing you lost a bearing or a ring caught and busted up. all the rings are intact on both sides What made you take the motor apart. That would in deciding what's going on. i did my first plug chop on the fresh rebuild and saw the metal so i pulled the head to check it out. when i saw the piston top i pulled the jug to check the walls and rings. then i saw the shit in the bottom and pulled the motor out. As far a rebuilding the crank. What are you going for? Do you want it to run just like it is or are you looking for more performance? i just want my shit to run, no need to go stroker...i just bought this crank 20 hours ago T.D.R does good crank rebuilds. Send them yours and they'll send you a rebuilt one. I think it's $350 -$400. Or, find a shop that will rebuild them. Some charge $120 plus parts. do you know the shops names that will rebuild mine for $120 + ? Lots of options here. Let us know why you took it apart... was the motor locked or what. it never locked up. i think i shut it off before anything bad happened. On the clutch basket, make sure the kick starte gear still has the e clip on it. I had it come off before. I went to the hardware store and bought a little smaller one that has worked out great. I'm not sure if that's your trouble... it's just something that comes to mind. thanks, i'll check that out.
  12. surprisingly the cylinder looks good. my dome does look similar. most of the what you are seeing feels 'raised' on the surface, rather than pitted. i was wondering if i could just put the piston and dome both it a lathe and hit the faces with some 600 grit or something to get the material that is melted on there off. ?? But am i correct in assuming that i have a bad bearing in the crank? where else would the material come from? i didn't run this motor for more than 3 minutes after a fresh top end. when i cheked the plugs i noticed material on the plug....that's why i pulled the head to see what was up. If it is a crank bearing, where would i have it rebuilt? it's a hot rod crank. how much does a bearing job cost? they are selling rebuilt trued and welded cranks on ebay from time to time for $200. would it be better to just buy rebuilt from ebay or have mine rebuilt?
  13. the scratches aren't real deep, but just wondering what could have cause it?? there are no scratches on the inside of the clutch cover.
  14. plus when i took the clutch cover off i saw some scratches on the basket. where could these come from? if you look close you will see scratches on the OD of the basket (on the motor side)
  15. second picture of the junk in the bottom. does this look like a bearing letting go??
  16. i think i have a crank bearing letting loose. i pulled the head and saw some pittin/metal imprinted in the piston, when i took the head off. check these pics out and tell me if you think the pistons are re-usable. the cyl walls look ok. the one dome looks like the piston top.
  17. try putting them at 1 turn out and see if it helps...if not turn them back out to 2 turns.
  18. sounds lean. try runing in your adjustment screws, and raising the needles.
  19. i dont think putting in bigger mains is going to help your idle problem. sounds like you may have a clog in the pilot, or you may need bigger pilots. you can try turning the mixture screws IN while it's running to see if it starts to idle. turning the screws in will richen the pilot (idle) circuit. if it gets better when turning them in you should probably step up the pilots.
