Cotton eyed Joe Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 When I wrecked I had internal brusing to the point it was tough to drive my truck. I could literally feel my guts. Drinking cold water was uncomfortable. My legs were blue and black and swollen from just below the knee to about 1/2 way up my thighs. I had sand rash on the front and back of my body, and I knocked a few ribs around so it was hard to breathe as well. I could barlely swallow food, and I couldn't turn my head to the right due to a pulled muscle. I couldn't go to the gym, I could barely work, I couldn't ride, so I was online, and played GTA: Vice City a whole lot in between sleeping and taking Advil 4 at a time. It went on like this for about 2 months. Playstation 2 saved my life. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 you just got 3 screws in your knee? Damn how did you do that? When im sick or injured and when I had the bones in my toes fused together (not last summer but before) I was on so much pain killers I coulden't do shit. So I rented a bunch of X-box games But as soon as I could sit up again it was back to Desert Combat on the PC...That game will never die! Nothing like cruzing dune buggys around with machine guns on the top, or parachuting out of a plane or getting into an M1A and killing some Iraqies...Especialy when you can't even walk... Quote
BenBB Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 I agree with everyone else, if you're incapacitated there's Gamecube/PS2/Xbox/PC games, watchin' DVD's like Huevos 5 & 6, and gettin' online (forums and of course porn). I've been lucky, last injury I had was a broken Tibula or Fibula, I forget which one it was but it's the small bone between the ankle and knee. I kept riding. Hell, I raced the day after with an acme bandage, didn't know it was broke until a couple weeks later it was still swollen and had it checked out...stupid walking cast wasn't nearly as good as my riding boots, heh. Last time I had a concussion I don't know what the hell I did, there's literally hours I don't remember what I was doing, people said I was walking around fairly normally. Guess it depends on what you call normal, heh. Hope your feelin' better soon... Quote
got1banshee Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 I havn't been riding long enough to crash my quad yet. But I did how ever crash my zx9r and there are 3 days of my life that I will probably never remember, I had staples in my head and in my back. I got really lucky, not only that I am alive but its been 3 years and I never felt any pain. The only thing that I felt was my staples itching like hell!!! I wasn't all there for about a week, I had alot of memery loss in that week. Scary man, walking around asking stupid questions, like whos truck is that refering to my truck that I have had for almost a year haha. HELMETS SAVE LIVES!!!!!!!! Hope you feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bird of Flames Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I am actually recovering from a fracture femur. they put 2 screws in where it meets my knee. Video games and movies helped me.
