Deets Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 Buddy of mine told me that if your bored and ported, that he would definitely Have the crank welded. 1 Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 Internal porting looks stock, but no way to be sure if the pistons are still stock or not. Tear it down and get them to whoever will bore them and they will tell you what size pistons you need. Just get some new weiscos and gaskets to keep the cost down. If you let it go and the piston gives up, it’ll cost a lot more to fix. 1 Quote
DoubleJay Posted January 23, 2020 Author Report Posted January 23, 2020 Agreed on tearing down top end next . I’ll post back after that . Appreciate all the help guys Quote

trumanbuckley1 Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 I do have a serious problem though w trying to make things go faster.I’d still run a compression test before tearing it down will nilly, unless you’re wanting to rebuild anyways.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
DoubleJay Posted January 23, 2020 Author Report Posted January 23, 2020 I have the compression gauge in my possession.. but the pistons seem really scored to me . Can you guys tell from pics? My question is ,if pistons look bad could they still be good . I have experience w rebuilding stihl chainsaw. My last 2 stroke was a 1990 CR125😳 Quote
DoubleJay Posted January 23, 2020 Author Report Posted January 23, 2020 Ok .. it’s happy hour here in NY right now . But I’m gonna do the test now anyway Quote

DoubleJay Posted January 23, 2020 Author Report Posted January 23, 2020 My carbs are soaking in chem dip right now.. I’m reading instructions for this gauge. It says warm up engine.. well that’s not happening. Lol . Can I still do this?? Quote

Can I still do this??How I always do my compression tests is I unhook the spark plug wires first off so it won’t start (or leave the key off) and then put the tester in and kick it over 5 or so kicks and read it. Repeat one or two more times and then go to the next cylinder. Sometimes I’ll squirt some oil in the cylinder if it’s an engine that’s sat for a while and could have dry non oiled cylinder walls.
