Mid range stumble

Recommended Posts

So I had a shop give me keihin jets. 170 main, 55 pilot. Needle on second clip. 500 above sea level. 421 assassin, 38mm pwk carbs, cool head, cpi in frame, shearers. Anyways, I went riding and was lean as hell. Moved the needle to 4th clip and it helped but not much. My kx125 beat me in a race. Wtf?

-did you pressure test the motor for air leaks because that sounds slightly rich for that setup. Also what needle

What is your compression/ fuel your running as well.  Ported motor?

Yes. It's at 140psi. I'm unsure of the needle. And fuel is 93 octane mixed 32:1

I did not plug chop yet. It starts first kick. And a local company, c&m Powersports. He just googled cause he didn't know

How does it start and idle with that pilot.  You should see what needle is in there. What shop provided you with jetting specs?

140 psi on the cylinders....
Did you pressurize the crankcase with 6psi for at least 6 mins?

he said yes before that im assuming that was to the pressure test question. if not then that is highly suspect because that jetting should be more than enough to put it in a safe spot
