nj2016 Posted January 28, 2018 Report Posted January 28, 2018 I run 50/50 av gas/premium and haven't started my bike in about 1.5 years, would I be OK to just fill the tank with fresh mixed fuel and some octane booster or would it be better to just drain the tank and flush the carbs? Also, I have after market headlights that are 30 watt halogens and my tail light is LED. Would adding a second set of headlights that are 26 watt LED's be too much of a strain on the electrical system or should it work fine? I'm not looking to upgrade to the higher wattage stator right now. Here is a link to the lights. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GC60QSG/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Info about my bike: Ported/polished Pro Circuit Platinum Pipes/304 silencers Stock stator/flywheel Quote
Larry's Shee Posted January 29, 2018 Report Posted January 29, 2018 If it were me I'd drain the bit of gas in the tank (and carbs) and not take a chance on old gas. Quote
Keno Posted January 29, 2018 Report Posted January 29, 2018 30w x 2 = 60w26w x 2 = 52w (probably actually like 30w total)60w + 52w = 112wBut the led lights are probably under driven by quite a bit to increase life. So they probably draw 10-50% less than advertised. Stock stator is good to around 90w I believe. So go for it. Quote
specialblend07 Posted January 29, 2018 Report Posted January 29, 2018 Octane booster literally does nothing.. Drain gas in bucket, pour contents of bucket onto quad, light on fire. This will save you lots of money, and headaches in the future. Or if you enjoy headaches, drain fuel into bucket, clean carbs, pour in new fuel, use old fuel to start a bonfire. Quote
nj2016 Posted January 30, 2018 Author Report Posted January 30, 2018 Thanks for the replies, I figured I should drain the tank and carbs but I was being a penny pincher I guess. For the lighting, is there a way to tell if you are putting too much strain on the stator? Quote
