  1. I need to have my top end bored out and buy the matching pistons/rings, does anyone have any good shops that they use in the Glendale/Phoenix AZ area? I thought Id post here and hopefully find someone reputable before I start calling around. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
  2. He doesn't think it is flooding, nothing is coming out of the overflow. I'll tell him to still check the float level. No he is in AZ and I am in CA.
  3. So my dad is having problems with his bike again after having some work done, this is exactly what he sent me "received new top end with minor head work and replaced factory TORS carb tops with aftermarket now: no power band the right side pipe doesn't get hot and when you but hand behind tail pipe left side is hot and dry right side gets wet from gas and is not hot changed plugs several times changed wires from one plug to other to see if it was wire etc made no difference carbs have to be working because fuel is coming out tail pipe took off reed cage both sides see no obstructions and checked that pistons were going up and down through reed cage opening" I had him check compression, if I remember what he said correctly it was 90 on the side that was running right and 85 on the other. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for all the ideas, I'll tell him to try all of that.
  5. I just got more information from him. It was running fine, then he let it sit for a few months, went to start it up and ran bad so he took apart the carbs and cleaned them, that is when the problem started. Another problem is that if he lets bike more than 20 min he has to use starting fluid even on a warm day. Once started it idles well.
  6. I told my dad I went to a Banshee Forum and he told me about a problem he is having with his bike to see if a solution could be found without taking it to a shop. As far as I know his bike has no engine work done to it just FMF Gold series pipes/silencers, still has TORS if I remember right, runs pump gas. He said it does fine at the low end, starts building up to the top end fine, then just bogs down really bad at the top end. I suggested taking apart the carbs and cleaning them, he said he put SeaFoam thru them, but I don't know anything about that stuff. Any tips or insight would be appreciated.
  7. Yea, if he has a website to look at PM or post the link I'll take a look.
  8. Are you selling the Fox grille and headlight with its mounts?
  9. Thanks for the replies, I figured I should drain the tank and carbs but I was being a penny pincher I guess. For the lighting, is there a way to tell if you are putting too much strain on the stator?
  10. I run 50/50 av gas/premium and haven't started my bike in about 1.5 years, would I be OK to just fill the tank with fresh mixed fuel and some octane booster or would it be better to just drain the tank and flush the carbs? Also, I have after market headlights that are 30 watt halogens and my tail light is LED. Would adding a second set of headlights that are 26 watt LED's be too much of a strain on the electrical system or should it work fine? I'm not looking to upgrade to the higher wattage stator right now. Here is a link to the lights. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GC60QSG/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Info about my bike: Ported/polished Pro Circuit Platinum Pipes/304 silencers Stock stator/flywheel
