Because that is their names.

When ever someone says cub them are talking about the cheetah cub. A serval is really called a serval cub.

A serval cub is similar to a cheetah cub, just the serval has lower port timing.

Okay, so correct me if I'm wrong here. All CP industries cylinders are "cubs" because that's their brand. Then that branches off to 2 different types of cylinders, serval and cheetah. Am I understanding that correctly?

Same cyl, different timing/port

Serval: 126/188

Cub : 130/197

My Driveline LP : 122/189

True they are not monoblocks but they are more often built as banshee based multiple cylinder motors. Mandatory billet cases, among other high dollar parts.

Cheetahs aren't worth messing with IMO. Cubs (or Drivelines) are much more economical to build.

So their bigger then the cub. Are they a drag application like the cub, just with a few more upgrades? Edited by controls77

So that PV gives it some more usable low end'"

Youll be fine with your low end on your bike. There's no reason you should need more. Mine will brake 22" CST pulse tires @ 5psi loose before the power band with 15/41 gearing. Yours will be more powerful.

Zilla,

Why do some distibutors refer to their CP industries cylinders as serval cubs or cheetah cubs?

Serval cub is set up for trails/dunes (more low to mid)

Cheetah cub is more dune/drag/hill (more mid to top)
