Will910 Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 Had a previous problem, carbs pouring gas, now fixed by tightening drain bolt, now carbs hold gas. However now other problems occur. Checked the spark plugs, dry no gas going to cylinders, pulled carbs, intake side dry no gas inside, could this be a problem with the reeds not functioning correctly and failing to suck gas into the motor? hoppedupandcutdown Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 Is this black hose installed between the 2 carbs? Quote
Will910 Posted April 23, 2016 Author Report Posted April 23, 2016 No, only the 2 fuel lines that come from each and come together into one, is that the same thing? Quote
Larry's Shee Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 No, look at pic. Hose is opposite choke on left carb. Fuel hose is more towards the back. Quote
Will910 Posted April 23, 2016 Author Report Posted April 23, 2016 Oh, in that case my carbs dont have that hose, what is it, and is it necessary for the bike to run, have seen brand new carbs that dont have it. Quote
bigweav81 Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 Stock carbs won't run for shit without it. sent from yo mammy house. 1 Quote
Larry's Shee Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) Carbs clean? You can see light through main and pilot jet? Blow air through all passages? Correct bowl on left carb ? Notice e red arrow pointing to the "BB" on left carb bowl? Edited April 23, 2016 by Larry's Shee Quote
Larry's Shee Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 Do you have stock carbs like those pictures? Quote
Will910 Posted April 23, 2016 Author Report Posted April 23, 2016 Yea I have stock carbs, similar to the picture, including the tors delete. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 Well, it will NOT start without that hose installed. 1 Quote
Will910 Posted April 23, 2016 Author Report Posted April 23, 2016 Ok, thanks for the info, just curious what is this hose, and what does it do that will prevent the bike running, witout it installed. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 That's the choke crossover tube. But the choke is actually a fuel enricher, when you pull the knob out on the left carb, it sucks up fuel and passes it to the other carb via that hose. When left off you have two large air leaks. Enough your quad will not kick start. You could probably drag it and bump start it but it will run bad and melt down from a lean condition. Quote
