k&N vs K&N style knock offs pods

Hey guys I see the knock off K&Ns are significantly cheaper then the OEM K&Ns.  I have heard that the knock offs dont have as high of filtration media, and less pleats.  Has anyone had any issues with the knock offs?  I planned on getting some 6 inch angled ones to go on some 35 PWK with outerwears.

I had a set of the shitty knock off pods. Took them on 1 ride and threw them in the trash can after I saw how much dirt they let through. Buy the actual k&n filters, they don't cost that much more.

easy decision I will go with K&N.  I figured there has to be a reason they are less money, Im sure they are not made as well.

Buy the outerwares as well. It helps get the finer particles as well I find.

 

Or just get uni.

I'd bet a good chunk of the K&N horror stories about dirt passing through are based off the imitations.

True k@n for sand. Any other riding use a good foam filter like uni.

When it comes to the last line and really the only line of defense of air filtration and safety of the motor I wouldn't look to cut any corners, I'm all about saving $ as much as the next guy, but when it comes to keeping your motor healthy and safe and for minimal difference in dollars get the legit air filters and outer wears..

well keep in mind some of the sponsors on this site that are well respected for building top notch motors suggest the knock offs.  They said they cant tell much difference.  I already ordered K&Ns.  To save $30 in filters for a non name brand chinease knock of an american engineered product is not worth it.

I never had any issues with knockoffs. Ive always used the ones from Tsracing.com

Plus the k&n life time replacement, I emailed the last week of a filter coming apart, they asked for a few pics, and part#. Got a tracking number that the new filter was on its way. Can't beat that coustomer service.

Technically they only carry a 1 year warranty on non highway use applications.
