01sheenoby Posted February 28, 2016 Author Report Posted February 28, 2016 and outside temp? agree sounds lean by the time this ground up rebuild is done outside temps will be in the 60's. live in upstate ny so no winter riding for me. thx for replying to my post. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Yes, stock crossover is best. Do you run a lid? best not to for more air with those mods Quote
01sheenoby Posted February 28, 2016 Author Report Posted February 28, 2016 Yes, stock crossover is best. Do you run a lid? best not to for more air with those mods yes lid is on but no snorkel and i put 2 one inch holes near back of lid. concerned with dust. abandoned railroad track dust seems to be very abbrasive stuff. any other opinion on what to do for more air? eg. no lid diff filter other than twin air? lots of money in this build. just want to protect my investment. Larry's Shee Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 So the port job is new addition, and now you need to jet. Since this is a new build, have you leak tested it? Read up on how to do a plug chop/ read. Start large, work down. "Baby Bottle" is my way of slamming boost bottles. Hell, they don't even need a crossover tube. Obviously you need something to plug the hole. Quote

01sheenoby Posted February 28, 2016 Author Report Posted February 28, 2016 Well this all Started cause of a rod bearing failure. Crank kit is on its way. Entire engine will be new other than cases. New clutch, everything. Want everything on hand when I start my build in the next week Quote
trickedcarbine Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Do a pro flow mod on the air box. There's a few companies making them. It's a Billit adapter plate that you put a bead of silicone on to seal and a few screws. It accepts a better filter set up with less restriction. There's a few companies that sell them. The Uni/Twin Air filters are available for them as well as a multitude of K&N gauze type filters. The Foam Filters will clean the air better, however they absolutely must be cleaned often or the bike will not perform well. Quote
