Ultimateduner Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Whick kind of bike have you been beaten by, or which one are you beaten by most often? If you picked other tell me which bike it is. Quote
STLBILL Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Hi all: Null vote here. So much for secret ballot, eh? The choices alone do not allow enough detail to form a conclusion. I mean a Quadsport 80 could beat me if it was impaled on the front of a cruise missle in flight... Regards, Bill Quote
Banshee crazy kid Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 i got beat by other banshee's. Quote
Screamin_Demon Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I haven't raced any other banshees yet... just my friend's raptor and another friend's EX. I have only been beaten by the raptor, mostly due to traction... too much or too little. He's beat me once due to popped it in neutral running paddles in sand. Just don't have the HP to do consistant 2nd gear starts in sand without bogging. Quote
boonman Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I have been beaten by other banshees, a couple bikes in the dunes, and a YFZ 450. Last time i dragged in the NYSATVDRA grass circuit, I came in second in all classes. Lost to the same nitrous shee all friggin night... Quote
lowriderb Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 the only real four strokes down here that hangs with the banshee's (besides other banshee's) are the stroker ex's, most of them are 480cc+ usually around 505 or so with the stroker crank. Quote
ninjamaster Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I was betten by alot of dirt bikes and once by a warrior. He had some mods on it and he could really ride. Why do you start out in 1st when racing? When I am drag raceing can I keep the rpms and the trottle pined while shipeting or do I need to get off the throtle while shifting? Quote
fel0n Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I have been beat by a Quadzilla. Both my Banshee and the Zilla were all stock, this thing killed me. Quote
Banshee crazy kid Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 i would get off the throttle if i were u,unless u want a blown clutch ect..(ninjamaster).........................if u can shift realy fast go for it Quote
onebanshee Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I have only lost once, and it was too a banshee, a fast as hell banshee, it was ported, bored, stroked, and the guy knew how to ride, other then that i have raced a couple of ex's, LOL, and a kawi 125, it was close but i pulled away at the top of the hill. the DS650 has also got the better of me once or twice Quote
Justintoxicated Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I always rev up and pop the clutch in second, yoru telling me im goign to fry it doing this? When Im at the drags everyone else does this too, so if I don't I will get beat right off the line. Quote
bronco91shee Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 i race all kinds of ppl at the dunes, and my friends. More than any one else r shees. But i saw a pair of 250r's that smoked anythin i've ever seen. 400's, never, not even the race ready ones. lol. But i have been blown away by a few buggies and trucks. Ive even been beaten by girls. Its all good though. Its all in fun, and they r obviously faster or/and better riders. Lots of guys hate gettin beat by a girl, makin up excuses. All i say is, she deserved it, and if im wrong, race again, if she keeps kickin ur butt, then u know. Peace out. Quote
. Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I've gotten beaten by a raptor, basically we were stock vs stock (maybe airfilter and pipes on both) It was on wet grass and he was just getting better traction. I kill him now though. And my buddies 330R we're neck and neck everytime we race. Its basically whoever gets the better start. If I could pull longer gears I think i'd beat him consistently. Now my engine is nice and fresh though...so I should be able to take him too. Quote
Klotz Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 so far with the banshee i got now ive raced....raptor and 2 400ex but the guy who owned it before me never lost a race...we live in a place with about 40,000 ppl in the surounding area and i have the fastest quad....ive saw some on here that could beat mine thoguh shane Quote
mrmatt Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I've been beaten by it all, not necessarily because my Banshee is slow, but because I screwed up... like bad start or missed shift. I raced a stock YZF450s about a dozen times this weekend and I cannot believe how quick they are stock! I still had a slight hp advantage, but I had to work a lot harder to get my weight balanced to get good traction but not wheel too high. So I lost a few and won a few. I just took my jugs off to polish the exhaust ports and mill the head. Maybe next time I'll have more wins than losses. As far as shifting goes. I keep the throttle pinned and just slightly pull the clutch in to get the next gear. Is this hard on the clutch? I don't know, but it makes for a quick shift. Quote
