type R Posted January 20, 2016 Author Report Posted January 20, 2016 Whats a test rig and is it possible that my clutch side crank seal leaks and cant see it trough the dip stick or something? I was just in there too to change the basket.clutch kit and the idler gear bushing Quote
speeshee Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Check were the throttle cable connect to the slides in the carb. The plate screwed into the slide has a hole that lines up with an additional hole in the slide. Probably not it though because it only restricts air and causes it to run super rich. (Unless you have signs of it running rich.) I did have that problem on mine when i first got it and it wouldn't fire. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
speeshee Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Sorry I didn't read the full conversation before I commented. Ignore my comment above. Just excited that I might have found someone else that had the same problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Test Rig = everything you glued, screwed, clamped, welded or bolted together to seal off the exhaust and carb holes to pressurize and monitor said pressure applied to the engine. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 And speeshee, those holes in the slides and plates are supposed to be lined up so the hole is clear. That is so air pressure is equalized on both sides of the slide so it will move freely. If you had problems with that causing a rich condition, then your caps on top the carb weren't sealed properly. type R Posted January 20, 2016 Author Report Posted January 20, 2016 No problem speeshee glad anyone tries my friend. Ok yes i did. I used a pressure regulator and put 5 psi until i could find something.. sprayed the hole thing including regulator. Maybe ill put the ball valve after the regulator in case. Quote
speeshee Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Thanks for the info. I have different caps now than I had then and its running perfect now. I also appreciate the friendliness of these forums Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

sleeper06 Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Easy there , what about head gasket. I usually test on the bench but have done it plenty in chassis. If you can pull the coolant hoses off rad and take clutch side hose and clamp it rite to head making closed loop. Then your left with little nipple on top of head, plug it up and test. Do this before tearing into clutch side to make it easier on yourself. If you plug all coolant lines and it stops leaking it's a head gasket. Maybe you can post a pic of your tester something sounds not rite 1 Quote
