type R Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Hi guys i am new here but read alot of posts and problems from others that helped resolved mine but not this time.. i cant figure out why my left side wont fire or almost never unless i punch it. Carbs been cleaned coil replaced. Wires switched up from plug to plug and still left side not firing.. took gas tank vavle apart thinkin maybe a restriction but all good.. compression test 145 exacly on both.. carbs are synced.. choke tube is atached. Runing leaner witch it never did its weird thanks for your time Quote
Shee_fast Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Slides in the right way? Cutout to the back? Is your stator good..maybe cdi Sent from my VS810PP using Tapatalk Quote
type R Posted January 16, 2016 Author Report Posted January 16, 2016 Slides are in the right way with cutout to the back. As for stator i have to print the manual unless someone knows off hand how to test it..and forgot to say i took my reeds apart to inspect them and there perfect no gaps cracks nothin Quote
Shee_fast Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Maybe your stator is goin....I've read a bad crank seal might make it run like this Sent from my VS810PP using Tapatalk Quote
type R Posted January 17, 2016 Author Report Posted January 17, 2016 Ill test the stator tomorow and if its good guess ill have to build a leak tester... im hoping its the stator Quote
Shee_fast Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Also try checking the cdi box Sent from my VS810PP using Tapatalk Quote
type R Posted January 17, 2016 Author Report Posted January 17, 2016 So i tested the stator and both resistance are in range.. this is rediculous i must have spent over 15 hours and still no good diagnostic. Not very proud to say im a truck tech at this point who cant fix his own bike ! Haha Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Time to build the leak down tester. I used a vacuum gauge (that also had a low pressure side) that I had laying around the shop. Just figured you might too, but I don't know if up to date truck techs have any carburetor tools.
