na421 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Looking to find opinions on the best tire to run on hard packed dirt. (Wedges , 4-snows , Mini Deserk Traks , Terrian Traks or A tire to cut ) I’m running a 421 cub with a +8 swinger. Quote
na421 Posted August 10, 2015 Author Report Posted August 10, 2015 They outlawed studded tires where we live. Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 CST Ambush For your motor I would recommend the 20x11x9 and cut every other row out. Quote

locogato11283 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Sawzall with a course wood blade for the bulk and then a razor blade to clean them up. Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Seems easy enough. Wait until you try it... Quote
Bennett131 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Wait until you try it...Oh I'm sure I'll be swearing. Lol Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Tips: 1. Mount tires on wheels 2. Inflate to 10PSI 3. Mount wheels/tires on bike 4. Put on a lift 5. Put jack stand under swingarm to elevate tires just a couple inches 6. Put bike in first gear to keep tires from turning 7. Commence cutting 8. DON"T CUT TOO DEEP or you will have to take the tire off and have it patched Quote
kawa110 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Tire Grover from summit....pays for itself Quote
J-Madd Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Do they wet the track at all? Is it tacky? I'd at least try some pro wedges on some 8x9 wheels if so. Low psi. Quote
kawa110 Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 ^^^groover.....not the Sesame Street guy.... Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 Wait until you try it...Still better then trying to hot knife off each lug. I'd imagine the sawzall followed with a hot knife would be easier on the ol dick beaters then holding on to a razor blade though. Quote
na421 Posted August 11, 2015 Author Report Posted August 11, 2015 I have a set of wedges 2s on 8x10 wheels but some real hard tracks they don't hook even dropping them to 2 & 1.5psi. Quote
