Nightmare Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 Many of us run K&N pods with outerwears in the sand with zero issues. Clean them after every trip and oil them well, you shouldn't have a problem. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 I've run K&N on all my bikes in the sand for 2 decades. With no problems, and I don't care for outerwears. I have them, but don't leave them on as they will soak up oil from the filter and plug up very quick. I put them on during very dusty or high wind conditions. I do grease the mounting flange, and noticed that helps seal it. Quote
ETR174 Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 If you don't have an airbox with a lid then do an outerwear but if you have a good concelled air box just oil it well like mentioned and it will work fine. I tried running 4" K&N pods and my Shee didnt really like them so I put my airbox sand 20 year old UNI back on and it loved it again. Quote
