Had some time to take the bike out, it was hard to start, but ran great for a cpl passes, then all of a sudden it started idleing high, so I figured it must be an air leak, did a leak down test, it's good, no leak! It's been sitting for probably 6 weeks. Carbs I think are dirty or something, floats were also sticking, causing fuel was leaking out the overflows.

Anyone ever have any issues like this with lectrons?

Issues- floats are sticking and motor is reving to high on its own, all of a sudden. Did leak test, no leak.

I want to give them a good cleaning tomorrow, any pointers on cleaning them, cause my only guess is they are clogged up.

It won't start on its own, had to put fuel direct into cyl. That started it, and it kept running, but idle was way to high, again it did this all on its own, no adjustments were made.

These are my first set of lectrons.

im assuming you use a castor oil. ive had problems with that stuff when it sits in the bowl for a while and turns to syrup. then has a hard time going through the small orifices. mostly the pilot jet is where it was clogging up. emptying the bowl after a ride seems to have solved the problem for me

Lectrons take a lot of work to set up n maintain. I clean my Lectrons after every race wknd. Make sure ur needle n seat, floats, etc are good. Use calipers to set up everything. U do not want the floats to sit with fuel in da bowls.

Never had an issue with my Lectrons getting gummed up. My slides do get sticky so I just scotchbrite them and there good to go again. I have had issues with leaking though. The rods that the floats ride on are known to cause issues. They work there way loose causing the bowls to hang up.

I had plans to use it the following day, so I didn't purge. Then that day turned into a week! Cause I forgot, and then this happens. Yes bowls were full. I purge it every time, longest was over night if I was using it the very next day. So I always leave it empty.

So I'm guessing everything is gummed up with that green slim I see in the bowl, that is now in the little orfeces ?

So what is the best way to clean these things? They were set good already, just need to be cleaned.

Shitty! But thnks. I was hoping for a miracle cleaner soak em and it eats the slim away! I havens seen slim like this in gas carbs. This stuff is sticky, it's slim! Is it from the type of oil? Or the alcohol? I use klotz supertechnoplate

Brake clean and elbow grease

That^ Maybe some air on a little reducer nozzle. Just gotta be vigilant with that shit. My oxygenated fuel does it every now and again. I usually dump the bowls back in the tank after riding if I know I'm not gonna mess with it in a while.

Cleaned them up, just as you guys described. Break cleaner, worked real good, very little effort actually, that "spooge" is just so sticky, I can see why it clogs everything up. I can feel even how much smoother my throttle is.

Haven't started the bike yet, but I'm almost positive, all will be good.

The floats were sticking to the sides of the bowls!

Thanks
