jriffe23 Posted August 8, 2014 Author Report Posted August 8, 2014 that makes them kinda hard to weld and have real penetration. on the other hand.. that "show chrome powder" will not look like chrome. polished then sealed or the ceramic seems like a great idear. if you powder the cylinders they will also hold more heat in them.. i run alky on a 350 larger motor dosent mean thats when you need alky. if its a "drag bike" it should be on alky or your just leaving a lot on the table OR paying 28-20 bucks a gallon for high end race fuel... m of course just my opinion that 2nd bike looks saaweet!! the first one for this thread looks like its a single a-arm setup? so whats the story on the 2nd bike? where did those pipes go? where did that welded cyl motor end up? Youre asking the wrong guy. That wasnt mine. I just bought this frame less than a month ago. I dont think they are the same because mine has all the gussets removed along with all the unneeded tabs removed and yes it is a single arm set up, which im not that big on but it will work. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 Hmm, might not be the same frame. Pretty sure that bike is an old one out of the old shearer stable. Or maybe I found it on his old site. Regardless. It used to fly! Quote
jriffe23 Posted August 8, 2014 Author Report Posted August 8, 2014 Has a utah vehicle registration tag on it??? Quote
jriffe23 Posted August 8, 2014 Author Report Posted August 8, 2014 Just tinkered around with my build today. Ive got to get some upp 38mm intakes if anyone has any forsale. My question is when i get it running, i have it set at +5 timing now but with a 4 mil stock cylinder, im not sure if there is a certain place to put it or just play with it? Thanks in advance Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 Start at 4 and work up from there Quote

jriffe23 Posted August 8, 2014 Author Report Posted August 8, 2014 Ah!! Easy enough I guess! Lol Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 Well, look around and find the range guys with similar set ups are running. Start on like 4* then read the plug. There will be a timing mark on the strap. Go up one degree at a time and check each time till the mark on the strap looks good. ONE DEGREE, at a time..... Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 Also, if it feels flat up top, spits & sputters(detonation), or backs plugs out, you have gone to far.... Quote
jriffe23 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Report Posted August 9, 2014 Thanks tricked! You're going to be a huge part of this build I can see already! Quote
Gohugemx Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 I had my frame and swinger powder coated in the chrome you mentioned and it came out ok. It is definetly not like chrome its more like an aluminum look. I also had two coats of clear on top. Its definetly diffrent, not at all reflective but is very shinney in the sun. Quote

Thanks for the input, i really appreciate it, i would have been disappointed. I think im just going to have the cases powder coated candy orange, polish the cylinders up, and have my coolhead powder coated the candy orange as well. Quote
