MustangK
Air screws are 1 1/2 turns out. All tors stuff is removed.
MustangK
And it was still hard to start with the larger pilots
MustangK
Where should my needle clips be?
BUILDER
Needle clip is not your problem. If it is still hard to start and bogs bad you need to look deeper into the issue. Like was said earlier you need to look the TORS system over very well. I know it has been removed but have you chased the wiring all out to make damn sure every wire is unplugged and not jumped or anything like? hoppedupandcutdown
card slides in backwards or parking brake malfunction if its new enough to have it.
MustangK
The wires to the throttle and parking break are cut. The tors "brain" is completely gone. The slides aren't in backwards. . I double and triple checked all this. What other problems can i look at? Reeds? Leak down?
MustangK
If the tors is activated wont it keep it from running at all or just above idle? How does it work? Does it limit something in the cdi like ignition?
trickedcarbine
^ reeds. Could be worth checking. Tug the carbs out and take a look. May wanna shine a flash light through the exhaust with the piston rotated in a way so that it lets light through to the reeds. This would help you see if there is a retarted gap at the petal tip to cage area. Post a list of all the stuff you have tried so We don't badger you with the same stuff over and over. MustangK
I've made sure tors is all disconnected/removed. Rejetted and cleaned carbs. Even after jejet still runs exactly as it did before. Hard start and wont Rev past 1/4 throttle. . It just bogs. Checked air filters and cleaned. Tried with them on and off. BUILDER
I would Ohm out the stator and see if it checks out good if it does I would try to find another CDI box to bolt on it and see if that fixes it. Also have you tried taking off plug caps and cutting back plug wires just a little bit to make sure there is not a bad connection there? BUILDER
If you look in the technical section here it will tell you how to ohm the stator out and see if it is good.

MustangK
So pickup coil says 94-140 ohms. Mine is at 91... that's not far off but could it pose a problem?
MustangK
Nevermind i didn't think a read it hooked in circuit. I unhooked it and it read 119 ohms
