troyzstang Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 What's your timing set at? Not seeing to much heat there. I think your making progress. Congrats. Quote
B.b.p builders Posted July 31, 2014 Author Report Posted July 31, 2014 My timing is set at +5 on the plate and stock setting on the dyna box. Do you think I could go a bit more on the plate? And no, no purge on these plugs. 1 day of racing. Quote
B.b.p builders Posted July 31, 2014 Author Report Posted July 31, 2014 The one plug is showing more heat then the other? 1 Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Looking a lot better! One side is fat other side is lean Quote
B.b.p builders Posted July 31, 2014 Author Report Posted July 31, 2014 Looking a lot better! One side is fat other side is leanThanks ya. I'm seeing it much clearer now. How's the timing mark look? I was thinking if you look at the first pic blow it up, timing mark looks almost perfect? No? Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 It's kinda hard to tell from the pics but I am thinkin it could probably handle a degree or two more... You want the heat line on the ground strap to be right at the bend where it curves down towards the plug base... But remember you add timing it will lean the jetting down a bit Quote
troyzstang Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 ^^^ Yep what he said. I was thinking the same thing. Quote

And yes thanks more timing more fuel! What does a guy do when the power jets are wide open and he needs more fuel? My power jets now are a half turn in from wide open? Carbs are lectrons 40mm / 38mm. My buddy has a set that are marked 40/40 would they be better? Or are the tapered ones that I have the better set up to have. Quote
B.b.p builders Posted July 31, 2014 Author Report Posted July 31, 2014 Oh and also I am now mixing with klotz supertechnoplate 6onces of oil to 5 litres of methanol. It's an easy way for me to mix it and be sure it's the same at all times Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Raise the needle a bit more on lectrons or you can add a second power jet... You can also take the needle out of the power jet and then drill the hole a tag bigger in the power jet so it flows more fuel... The tapered ones are supposed to have more velocity then the straight ones... But that's just what I have herd... I use a set of bored 39 pwks on my ten dm and love um Quote
B.b.p builders Posted July 31, 2014 Author Report Posted July 31, 2014 Oh ya I guess it's nothing to add another power jet if needed. I'm sure I won't need that but I'm thinking once this thing is set up perfect it will be close. I am liking my lectrons a lot!! I am happy I went with them instead of a different carb. I was going to go with a pwk carb cause I have used them lots on different motors. So I'm thinking I will try another 1/4 turn ritcher on the needle, up the timeing 1• to start and see what that does. As always your input is much appreciated guys. Thanks. Quote
SOUTHTHIRTY Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Are your power jets all the way open? Quote
SOUTHTHIRTY Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Plug on right looks like it had more heat....if carbs are set the same ...do a quick leak down test. ..just to make sure that side doesn't have a leak. Quote
m671054 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Pics of carbs. Will help with further recomendations regaurding getting more fuel in your motor. Also what tank, cap, fuel valve are you using? Quote
