Chemical Castration Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 That can't be true cuz dirtwheels said that the yfz 450 can spank banshees on anything, and i hear people are beating drag ported banshees on meth with piped yfz's Quote
SCOTT PRESSLEY Posted November 14, 2003 Author Report Posted November 14, 2003 Shhhhhhh! maybe nobody told them yet over there. It did tell that it was a 3 session race and the AFREICAN team pulled out in 2 session due to motor trouble, they were on a DS650 GO FIGURE Quote
bronco91shee Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 Hey yall. u know i love shees, but i also know they got problems. My bro's 250r walks all over me any day. Ds, dont surprise me, i beat those bac on my blaster. We all know shees rock, so y is that a surprise that we whooped a@$. But really, am i the only one who thinks that if yamaha had updated it, it would still be the s$@*. even better than the new 450(that thing is sweet, i sat on 1 and raced 1, bout time yahmah steps up and shows them hondas. Peace. Quote
Chemical Castration Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 My bro's 250r walks all over me any day What kind of riding? what mods does his bike have? Everytime I raced my cousins 250r I would beat him by a few bike lengths up competition hill. Quote
stu Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 what 24hr race was it?? the banshees that these guys race have had thousands of pounds and many hours spent on them specifically for these races. i still have a giggle to myself when i think my bike was designed about 15 years ago and its still alot faster than many of the latest high spec bikes!!! stu Quote
Deathly Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 I think Yfz's are overrated. But then again, I've never ridden one. Quote
ledofthezep Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 I think Yfz's are overrated. But then again, I've never ridden one. Me 2, but I still want one! They're damn nice bikes & with some mods they're killer--especially on the track. At the dunes,...I'll stick with my shee for now. That can't be true cuz dirtwheels said that the yfz 450 can spank banshees on anything, and i hear people are beating drag ported banshees on meth with piped yfz's They must have not had their shees tuned right....cause I've yet to have one hand me my ass....dragg'n...no fucking way, especially in the sand. I lined up with a yfz w/HMF exhuast & I imagine it was jetted,..looked pimp as hell & I still took him by at least 2 bike or more the 4 times or so we went down the strip. My shee's not the baddest machine out there,...but shee's a runner & will hold her own. Bring It! Quote

SCOTT PRESSLEY Posted November 17, 2003 Author Report Posted November 17, 2003 The race was Pont de Vaux. It told that the winning shee went the last six miles on one cylinder to win.Treat them good and they will give you their all. Also Eichner chose a Duncan, lager preped shee over a new 450.Said that the Banshee was proven . Quote
Meat Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Yes the race was the Pont de Vaux race in France, Banshees win it every year. This is high speed race, topend quads like the Banshee are well suited for this race. American Doug Eichner and his team won it 3 years ago on a killer blue Duncan Banshee. The french team that won it last year, won the race this year, Eichner's team came in second. The winning french tema rode a Banshee with FMF Fattys\PCIIs. Thats another big race win for the FMF guys. First three places were riding Banshees' fourth place went to another Yamaha quad, the new YFZ450, and a Raptor nabbed 5th. 6th and 7th place went to those funky looking "W-Tec Eraser" with 520 KTM engines. Iv heard the 520 KTm motors are one of the best 4 strokes engines ever made. The second and third place Banshee's were both Duncan Banshees with PT hi-revs. Its a cool race, iv heard about it a few years ago. Its a 12 hour long race around a big grassy oval track, I guess theres a few TT style jumps placed around the track. Teams are either 2 or 3 man teams. Here's a paragraph from ATVSports writeup... (Lassaigne is the winning frenchman) "After a few laps of the third session, it was becomeing clear that Lassaigne was on a roll and might be unstoppable in his quest for his second-consecutive PDV victory. The Banshee was running flawlessly and the only remaining scheduled pit stops would be for fuel. By the 11th hour he was nine minutes ahead of Eichner. Then, with only 10 minutes to go, the Banshee lost a cylinder. D'eja' Vu is the feeling you've experienced something before and with the motor on his Banshee failing, the feeling was real for Lasaingne. Last year at PDV, his Banshee blew a coolant hose just 200 yards from the finish and had to push the 350-pound machine over the finish line for the win. So now it was anyone's guess if the Banshee could survive on one healthy cylinder--and the smoke pouring from the sick cylinder didn't look very encouraging. Somehow tho, the single 175cc barrel stayed alive and pulled Lassaigne the remaing half-dozen miles to the finish line." Now here's the Banshee, a 16 year old design beating the pants off of these new big 4-strokes. In the PDV race the Banshee's beat all the Raptors, all the YFZ450's all the DS650's all the Polaris Predators and all the fancy KTM 520 quads. Quote
dirtbike killer Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 yfz's are over rated. At first you would just see one here and there, so it was hard to get a good judge on their speed. But now I see one almost every week. Today I rode an 250r and a yfz450 for the first time. The 250r had all the normal mods plus a little port work. The 450 had a pipe and filter. First off I was very impressed with the 250r. I have a lt250r suz with its fair share of of mods, and this honda was faster. I raced my friends banshee that has reeds and k&n. I won by about four quads, WOW! IT sits low and handles nice. Next I jumped on the 450, very quick but no top end. I personally think the 500 predatory is faster. As for a 450 beating a piped shee, I dont think so. Out of the hole, yes. The first three or four gears, maybe. But if your tuned right you will run one down on a piped shee. Quote
stu Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 the Pont De Vaux is probably the biggest 12 hr race we hear of in England. there are a load of teams that enter from the UK and all the teams i know of use banshees. has everyone seen the Duncan racing banshees talked of?? if not i suggest you find a picture of one. the only way i can describe it is "bling bling" its very nice!! stu Quote
