Don't understand

OK.. I purchased a shee recently that had been built by Kip at Dune Trash Racing.  Nothing special. Stock stroke Hot Rods welded crank, dune port job, aftermarket carbs.  BUT, there is a boost bottle on the bike.  I don't get it!  Aren't those supposed useless in any applicaton??  Just an additional potential for an air leak?

 

Any ideas why that thing would be on this quad??

Yup, just replace it with the stock crossover tube. Check the intakes for cracks while your at it.

Quick queston... is the crossover even benefitial after you have dones some mods (or... even before for that matter)?

Dune trash racing puts trash on there motors.... Like boost bottles lol. Idk too much about that place but yea sell the boost bottle and put stock cross over tube back in its place. Might as well get new intake boots. They aren't that expensive anyway

I haz stock intakes with stock cross-over tube and stock reed cages I don't need.

The set came off my 02 and they're in excellent shape.

if it was built by kip it could be about 10-15 year old build?  also  if the boost bottle was on it and the prev owner DIDNT want it gone it may have stayed for that reason also.

 

sounds like nice take off intakes from an 02 are a good deal

I wish i would have invented the boost bottle. that is the biggest, get rich gimmick in the world. I refuse to build a bike with a boost bottle. they are ugly and get in the way of everything.
