Ronnie Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 Hello, yesterday I went for a ride and one of my wheel nuts came off so today i went to take off another and get it replaced but when i put the wrench to it it melted like butter and is now completely rounded off. I am limited on tools and have tried what i know and so far nothing works. Its driveing me crazy and i have no way to take my bike to the shop. What should I do? Do any of you guys know and tricks that i can try to get this last nut off? Quote
fappy'97 Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 Torch and a set of vise-grips should do it. Quote
dave5.0 Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 Get a crappy socket this is just a lil smaller but you can make it fit with a hammer. Get it on there with the hammer then hold the ratchet and extension very firmly and bust it loose. You may have to use a couple smaller sized sockets if the first one goes on too easy. 1 Quote
Finch Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 weld a crappy socket to it. if ya cant take the bike anywhere just pull the hub off Quote
Nightmare Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 Go find a snaggled toothed hooker, clamp her down real good on that nut and spin her real fast by her feet. Should work.

Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2

1 Quote
Buckwheat Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 Get a firecracker, stick it in your butt, then light it. Quote
dave5.0 Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 Get a firecracker, stick it in your butt, then light it. Seen that done. That works. Best method yet. Way to go Mom. 1 Quote
Deadbeat Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 if none of these ideas work^ lol, hit it with wd40 and let it soak it for a while , then use a hammer and a sharp chisel to get it started then vice grips Quote
BANSHEE CHAOS Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 Craftsman makes a sorta reverse ez-out for grabbing stripped nuts... I'd try a taiwany 13mm on an impact first. Quote
ATV Galaxy Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 buy a new hub, wheel and tire.... I know a good place that will hook you up! 12pt. socket 1 size smaller and a 3lb hammer should do the trick Quote
CalBanshee Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 You're pretty much fucked... Only option is to sawzall the axle 1 Quote
Starwriter Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 Judging from the OP's previous post history, he's never coming back to this thread. Quote
