DynamicPanic Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 Hey guys, I recently purchased a 06 Banshee. The banshee is like new, barely riden. The only kicker is the guy let gas sit in the bike for 2 years or something. The bike has T5s, k&n air filter. I replaced spark plugs, filter for gas tank, carbs. I did not replace the jets, I just cleaned them as I can't read the numbers off the jets and Toomey won't respond to me. So here is my questions. The bike runs solid but bogs down at first throttle. What do you think is the cause of this? I went WOT through all gears and the bike does fine after takeoff. However a friend tampered with this brass screw on side of carberator and I swear the bike tops out slower now. Seems like I go through gears quicker now. Is this normal? Also, anyway to find out what jets I should be running with my T5s? Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 I'd run 27.5 pilots and start with a 280 main. The brass screw on the side is the air screw. That should be .5-2.5 turns out depending on throttle response. Dial in your main jet first and then mess with the air screw. Quote
06BCBANSHEE Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 prob need a size bigger on the pilot. had the same problem. was running 27.5 and switched to a 30. running fmf fattys K&N and vforce 4. its hard to sell, but they should say what size they are. That screw is ur idle screw. Quote
06BCBANSHEE Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 sorry air screw....bigger one is ur idle, small little dial is ur air screw Quote

I am going on a trip so trying to get this info in ASAP or else I'd do more research instead of sounding like a dumbass. What is the pilot? I know what the jet size is. Plus, is their a kit I can buy with a couple jet and pilot sizes? Btw, I am below sea level. Quote
02servalbanshee Posted March 11, 2013 Report Posted March 11, 2013 Im sea level an use factory pilot, air screw 1.5 out, toomey needles on 4th clip and 290 main .. t5s light porting 66mm bore . K&n no lid Quote
dirtrackr Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 spend a little money on a carb sync tool, get it from FAST!,site spoonsor Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 Did you use any pressure to blow out any of the passages in the carbs when you cleaned them? Quote
moneybags Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 how far out are the air screws now? You need to wait about 30 seconds after ajusting the air screws to notice the difference. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Ya make your own "kit" so you get what ya need. You tell them I need a 290,300, 310, 320, 330 or in what ever range you need. Quote
