turbowrenchhead Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I have several needles, pilots and mains for a 35mm pwk. I found a decent deal on a PJ carb. Do they all work on the PJ? How is the performance of a PJ compared to a PWK? Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 PWK all day long. Very easy to set up and maintain. PJ are outdated and very hard to dial in exactly. Quote
turbowrenchhead Posted January 22, 2013 Author Report Posted January 22, 2013 Good to know, thanks. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 PWK! I own PJ's But as soon as money is there I'm gettin PWK's. I can tune all my buddy's bikes in half the effort of my own Quote
possum Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Pjs are fine. U just have to know how to jet. I have pjs and pwks Quote
turbowrenchhead Posted January 23, 2013 Author Report Posted January 23, 2013 Why are PJ's more difficult to tune? Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 They are more sensitive to weather changes. Especially humidity. You will be playing with the airscrew quite a bit. Also the idle/choke share the same circuit. Not a fan. They can definitely be dialed in but not as easily as PWK's. I can do my PJ's pretty fast, but more work then I like to do and more fiddling then a PWK Quote
turbowrenchhead Posted January 23, 2013 Author Report Posted January 23, 2013 It wasn't that bad to dial in my 35 pwk on my blaster. Sounds like I will stick with them. Quote
sheerider11 Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 With the idle and choke knob in one I would always mess the idle up when I would pull the choke. I got lucky and traded my 34 for some 35pwk Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Paint pen on the knob solves all that Quote
possum Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 I never had to choke my carbs with pjs Quote
sprinklerman Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Pjs are fine. U just have to know how to jet. I have pjs and pwks Its odd that you would say that, seeing how your idol hates PJ's..... Quote

Hmmmm. hmm, thats a new one, i thought nothing was wrong with it. And detonation is normal for race motors? With those "custom" .030 squish flat roof domes. Quote
