Trying to take apart these old set of Mikuni carbs but can't free the float

I bought a basket case Banshee the other day and I'm trying to nurse it back to good health. I took apart the carbs and I had a few questions. First what is that housing above the carb holding the carb lid and throttle cable over the carb? Should I take that apart and clean that thing? Also, I'm trying to take apart the carb so I can soak in carb cleaner but the pin holding the float in place seems like it was set up in such a way that its not supposed to come out. Anyone else seen this before? Should I just give it a good shot w a screwdriver and hammer lol? Here are some pics.

Throttle Over Ride System.

Meant to limit the ignition if the carb slides stick open and the thumb throttle is released.

-Realistically works on a basis of causing all sorts of bad shit to happen and leaving you with a bike that barely runs in the middle of somewhere.....far...far from home.

Ditch the tors and get the tors delete and idle screw kit. Good investment and makes it so much easier to change jets. Just tap the float pin out backwards with a small punch and it will pop right out. You can also disable the tors for now if you cant afford the delete kit. Just unplug the throttle housing on the bars and the carbs.

Thanks guys,

I took out the carbs and rebuilt those once I got the pin out. Thanks for all the info on the TORS. I googled around this morning for info on the TORs delete kit and found that there are a lot of videos on Youtube on how to install the kit. I wanted to make sure I figure out where the control box is and figure out exactly what iIl need to do to remove the tors without screwing anything up on the bike that isnt already screwed up.  I might keep those on, run the bike then remove them once I get the bike running smoothly. I got the bike from someone who let it sit for 3 years before I bought it so it wasn't running. Thanks for all the good info

If anyone is interested in taking a look here is part 1 and 2 of the delete kit install. Part 2 is easier to watch and is basically a repeat of what the guy did in part1
