@1shee I haven't pulled the reeds, I did check the compression. Was at 100 on each cylinder. I bought new plugs, cleaned the filter. I'm going to double check one of the carbs again. One fell off the wheel when I was installing. might have jacked the float up. I do have the tors for now,. I have a tors removal kit ready to go but wanted tto make sure the bike was running before I installed. What is the green wire your referring to and also what does a leakdown test entail. I guess I can google that part before someone posts the google seach animation on me lol.

I cleaned all of that stuff. Jets look new. I cleans and blew everything out with a high pressure compressor. I know the air screws hve to be adjusted and I need new pipes which sucks because I dont want to buy stock pipes for 100 and I dont want to but after market pipes to learn the quad is not good lol. I'm worried that I will have to replace the head or jugs/pistons.

Should I drain the cases out if the bike has been sitting for 4 years? I guess so. Is that to drain crank case oil? They were gummed up with old gas and rock hard fuel lines so I took all the plastic parts off took them apart, soaked them overnight in carb cleaner and returned them back to what looks like new carbs. The gaskets were still good so i didn't replace those.

Hey guys, Its been about 10 years since I had a banshee. I'll just call my self a Banshee noob because I know nothing about them. I have a couple quick questions. So I got my hands on a Banshee that wasn't running. Hasnt been started for 4 years. I rebuilt the carbs changed the coolant because I had some laying around. Gave a little squirt of starter fluid and blam she started first kick. So now all of the bad. I started the bike and it appears that one of the silencers coughs out a little smoke then either stops allowing exhaust to flow out or stops emitting exhaust. I took that pipe off to see if exhaust was coming out of the 1st half of the pipe and some was but it sounded like fireworks were shooting off so I turned the bike off. Also, I looked under the bike and it looked like gas was dripping from the bolts under the engine. Is that possible? I didn't install overflow tubes out of the carbs at this time so gas was coming out from there. Its possible that it might have overflowed off the engine where the gas was coming out of the carbs. So I guess the questions are, if I have one pipe emitting exhaust from one side and not the other what is most likely the problem. Is it possible to have gas leaking from under the engine? If so whats the general cause? I know these might be obvious answers. I would appreciate the help. Any advice would be much appreciated. Trying to get this thing running good. Heres a video of what this is looking like:

Hey guys, I just bought a basket case banshee that I'm trying to get working. I started rebuilding the carbs and when I got to the second carb I noticed that the little spring that attaches to the float that allows the float to pul and push that pin that allows gas to enter the carb bowl is f_*king missing... Anyone know where I can buy that part or what that pin is actually called? I've attached a pic

Thanks guys, I took out the carbs and rebuilt those once I got the pin out. Thanks for all the info on the TORS. I googled around this morning for info on the TORs delete kit and found that there are a lot of videos on Youtube on how to install the kit. I wanted to make sure I figure out where the control box is and figure out exactly what iIl need to do to remove the tors without screwing anything up on the bike that isnt already screwed up. I might keep those on, run the bike then remove them once I get the bike running smoothly. I got the bike from someone who let it sit for 3 years before I bought it so it wasn't running. Thanks for all the good info

Thanks guys. Its been 4 degrees here for the last couple of days so I havent gotten to this project. I'm going to give break cleaner a shot first. If that doesnt go well I'll try to track down the aircraft grade paint remover. Glad I didn't try soda blasting. Thanks for trying that out for me HQ soldier

I bought a basket case Banshee the other day and I'm trying to nurse it back to good health. I took apart the carbs and I had a few questions. First what is that housing above the carb holding the carb lid and throttle cable over the carb? Should I take that apart and clean that thing? Also, I'm trying to take apart the carb so I can soak in carb cleaner but the pin holding the float in place seems like it was set up in such a way that its not supposed to come out. Anyone else seen this before? Should I just give it a good shot w a screwdriver and hammer lol? Here are some pics.
