BAMF87
Hi, I have a 97 banshee that I just fully rebuilt and powdercoated and everything. Took the engine apart and replaced crank seals and put all new gaskets everywhere. I've only had it out twice since the build and somehow riding "topped out" one of the spark plug boots came off and the it flat out died. When I stopped coolant was coming out of the case where the trans sprocket is on left side, also when I pulled my carbs off I can see coolant on my reeds. Any idea what may have happened. I'm hoping its just the cylinder gaskets.
Finch
no coolant should be coming from base gasket unless one of your plugs is bad my guess is leaking in between the cases only way i know how it could get in ur tranny and your motor. BAMF87
So you think Ill need to split the cases again and re seal them?
Finch
if ya have it in your tranny and your cyl i cant think of anywhere else it would of came threw. but kind of odd its leaking into both but better safe then sorry water in crank makes for a s shaped od
BigRed350x
Check the tube that comes down the back of your head, and the solid coolant tube where it goes into your clutch cover. I bet you have a bad or pinched coolant tube oring and the coolant is just seeping out and going across the top of your cases.
BAMF87
Thx ill check that, but it was like squirting out of the area that the tranny sprocket stick out, like it pressured up

Rotax Raptor
What about the water pump seal. That may where the pressure and anti freeze is coming from.

BAMF87
Ok looked at the bike closer and no coolant in cylinders I guess the angle I was holding my light made the reeds look green. BUT the two plugs on the very bottom of the motor are, well.........gone! Where can I get new plugs for it.

Jereme6655
Are you talking about the very bottom of the cases? Or are you talking on the bottom of the cylinders? If your taking on the bottom of the motor your looking for motor braces.........if your talking on the bottom of the cylinders then you need water plugs which the site sponsors sell.
