wat kinda cylinder

Hi guys, I was tring to see if anyone can tell me wat kinda topend is this. My partner brought it off ebay and the guy claim that its a 421 cheetah cub, but I never seen a 421 cub that has 6 bolts where the intakes go

it IS a cheetah cyl but not a cub.. just a standard cheetah

Wats da difference? With the right setup how many hp can u get from dis setup? The buyer seller claims that's it a 421 and u will need a 4 mill crank.

It's probably just a 4mm Cheetah. You will need to verify that it is indeed a 4mm cylinder before you buy a crank.

I have a 421 cheetah as well. Those plates in the front are block offs for the power valves. If its a 4mil like mine, it shud put out about 90hp depending on setup. With these it's better to get custom domes cut by a site sponsor bc the ones from trinity are junk so have them checked out. Also check to see if it has been ported or not.

I think I heard somebody say something like this before................now if I could only find that post.............I'm sure Harry will come on and offer some sage advise.

 

Long story short - Get new custom cut domes for that combo. I'd LOVE to see what it dyno's at when Jim get's done with it.

if D&M did the porting.. If it came with domes.. they may be custom domes from him as well.

Hey guys I need a lil more info about this setup. Imma be drag racing on asphault at the 1/8 and the 1/4 mile. I wanted to know wat will I get better times outta with this top end of the 421 cub topend? I really want to run harder and fast on the big end tho?

You need to send the entire mess to a builder and have them tell you what you actually have and what your options are. Id HIGHLY recommend Redline or White Knuckle.

Doug at D&M knows his chit, but obviously buying anything used is a gamble. Doug is easily reached and is here in the Phoenix area and is also who built my bike.

they will tell you to buy a cub.. mostly because the older ones are overported and jacked up. they dont have the pv's inthem so they dont work right and as stated they dont have the correct dome shape in them. now to enlighten people. when th e"cub" first came out it had similar issues. some were being overported and wouldnt run worht a shit. and others were haveing way to tight of a squish clearance recomended and a n incorrect squish widht put in and were blowing the heads off or destroying pistons. those issues came about the development of a better more suited dome shape/ desing that would hold up. and that development if back'd on the cheetah casting along with a full understanding of how the pv works can result in a supperior motor to a cub.. this is just my opinion and the cub is still a great motor to build.. so dont misquote me there ok.

 

most those cyls were 400 cheetahs if its a 68mm bore seen a lot of "4 mill cub/cheetahs" coming up for sale,, then they end up being 400's most have the stroke and bore cast or stamped in them in the intake area.
