turner86 Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 i bought a 1998 banshee this is my first banshee i did a rebuild on the top end and rebuilt the carbs it starts but when i put it in gear and let off the clutch it wont move with the bike off i put it in gear and push it you can feel the clutch dragging and ideas on how to fix this other than buying a new clutch Quote
Jereme6655 Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 Want to explain that again? Because you are describing that when you have the bike shut off and put the bike in gear with the clutch out......it won't roll....which is correct. Even if the clutch is pulled in and it's in gear and you can feel it drag does not mean that it is wrong.....a lot of them do that. Quote
turner86 Posted May 20, 2012 Author Report Posted May 20, 2012 The clutch works when I put the dike on a stand the clutch grads and works fine but if I have it on the ground it won't move under its own power Quote
turner86 Posted May 20, 2012 Author Report Posted May 20, 2012 but if the bike is off i can still push it in gear but the clutch seems not to be engaging fully Quote
Paul M Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 Is the clutch pusher properly adjusted ? ...... Quote
turner86 Posted May 20, 2012 Author Report Posted May 20, 2012 Ok I'm new to banshees but very mechanical inclined how do you check it and adjust it Quote
erickson483 Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 If you have a clymer read the clutch adjustment section in chapter 2 or 3. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 somewhere on here is linc to download manual. What kind of oil did you put in it? Quote
guns4children Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 Look at your case. On top should be an arm where your clutch cable goes into. Make sure the point on that arm lines up with the point on the case. Quote
turner86 Posted May 20, 2012 Author Report Posted May 20, 2012 not sure what type of oil is in it what type needs to be in it and ill go buy some and change it out i found the manual for it going to check the adjustment today and see what happens Quote
