Jbeck103 Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Just bought a 17 tooth front sprocket for my banshee to get some more top end out of it. I have the stock 41 tooth rear sprocket on it and no swing arm extension. I attemped to install the new sprocket with my stock chain (520-104link) but wont quite fit with the chain adjustment all the way slacked out. My question was if anyone had any ideas of what link chain link lenght I should run? I was thinking a 108 link chain but just dont quite know with the chain stretching after time and such (should I go to a 110 or 112???). I would like the adjustment link anyone else would like it right in the middle but I am itching to get the sprocket on and see what it does! Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!! Quote
VoOK Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Get a 120 link and cut to proper size, that advice was given to me and worked perfect... Quote
Jbeck103 Posted April 8, 2012 Author Report Posted April 8, 2012 How did you make the chain the length you want. What I mean is how to you personally take the links off? Get a 120 link and cut to proper size, that advice was given to me and worked perfect... Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 I always run 2 master links so that I can just swap out the shorter piece between the two masters. Buy a longer chain and then set it up that way. I always carry a bunch of different sizes of chain pieces. Quote

HolySheet Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 You get the links apart with a chain breaker, or a grinder a punch and a hammer. Then just buy a couple master links and size it up. Quote
