Poolman Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 Hey Guys, First of all I want to raise my Handlebars 2 full inches because of the New Clarke tank that I purchased. At the same time I want to retain the Ignition key location. I don't have to have the stock plastic Ignition part but something that I can put the actual key cylinder onto. I realize the key will sit 2 inches higher at the same time. That is no problem. Do you guy's know of anything ? Also I will be selling a bunch of items next week. For example, All stock Blue Plastics (Uncut), Fuel tank, Work's Dual Rate shocks, Clutch side cover (case), and many other things. Just a heads up. I know my Post count is not very high here yet but I have other way's to prove credibility if need be. Example Ebay Account, You Tube Account. Quote

Poolman Posted February 3, 2012 Author Report Posted February 3, 2012 Are you wanting to get an extended steering stem or just change the bars to sit higher? I'm not really sure swhitey917. I would like for this http://www.trailtech.net/030-YBF.html to sit 2 inches taller so I can install the Ignition key cylinder and also my new bars. I ordered a set of Flexx bars. This piece that I'm showing will accept the 1 1/8" needed diameter for the Flexx bars to be installed. Thanks for the reply ! Quote
Glenyboy Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 I have that clamp it bolts onto the bottom part of the stock clamp, therefore will raise your bars slightly. Quote
Poolman Posted February 3, 2012 Author Report Posted February 3, 2012 I have that clamp it bolts onto the bottom part of the stock clamp, therefore will raise your bars slightly. I didn't think about this raising the bars at all but since you said that and I've studied the piece I can see where it would raise the bars slightly like you said. Now the question is How much did it raise the bars ? Would you say an inch or dont know ? Quote
beebs Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 You could use the clamp you're looking at and if it dosen't raise it enough you could make a small spacer for under it and use longer bolts. I've done this before to raise the bar a little. Quote

coryv4 Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 The clamp raises the bars by 2 inches might need to re route or get a longer clutch cable... i baught some pro taper bars that sat about an inch and a half higher than stock and it pulled my clutch when i turned. Quote
sstewart0023 Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 i dont kno if this will help out any, but its worth a try. I also just put a set of 1"1/8 protapers on my 01 banshee with some 1" risers i found on ebay. I bought the kit (bars, grips, pad, and 1"1/8 adapters). when i put it all together it gave me right under 2 inch rise off my stock stem. I also had to scrap my stock plastic cover and had to move my switch. What i done is took a chevy s-10 cig lighter mount (which your switch fits perfect) and mounted it to the upper stem clamp above ur radiator. You will have to trip out either side of the top of your grill right or left, but it looks really nice and clean if u take your time when u cut it. Ill put some pics up of mine if you would like to see how mine looks. Quote
Poolman Posted February 8, 2012 Author Report Posted February 8, 2012 I ordered a 2" Rox Riser off of Amazon. I'm just waiting for it at this point. Once I get it and size things up I will respond back with comments. Thanks guys for all your comments and suggestions. Quote
