im looking at going to a 421 serval an debating on waht kit to go with when i saw these kits. i mean besides the stock appearance an the claimed more bottom end than a serval kit, is it worth it an is anyone else running these an in comparison to the serval whats the difference all around? thanks for any input in advance.

the wampus is a cub cylinder with the appearance of a stock cylinder (kinda) you can get them in either serval or cheetah cub timings meaning, its either gonna go like a serval or a cheetah, but just look like a stock cylinder (kinda)

I have one sitting here, but obviously am not running it yet.. I have to order a few parts before putting it all together.

I will get around to taking some pics here real soon and get them posted.

X2.

Dirty said it right......the wampus is a cub motor and mono block that is made to appear stock and look like seperate cylinders.......so if your into racing for $$$ this cylinder is for you as it will make drag style power and appear to be stock.

the serval is more of a trail style top end......it is a trail timed drag motor basically haha.......its set for trail an dduning however if you port it you will wind up with drag timings such as the cheetah.

The other nice thing is that with the serval you are able to make 80+ hp while still running pump gas......no need to try and transport all that race gas to somewhere that doesn't sell it when you can make the same power off of pump fuel....

The wampus is just the shape of the outside of the cylinder. So ya have CUB or WAMPUS style on the outside.

AS far as porting you have 2 choices there CUB or Serval porting.

A serval isnt exactly a trail, hill climbing, creek/mud riding motor. It would be stronger and hit harder than 95% of the so called "drag port and polish" setups you will see except that it will have lowend power too and do it on pumpgas if you'd like.

If you ride fast stuff like roads, dunes or open areas and want pump gas then thats what the serval designed for.

Cub cyls are pretty much high hp drag/dune cyls that are mostly higher rpm setups with pretty poor lowend lugging type power.

Both of those setups are designed by Calvin Pollet and are just extremely efficient well designed cylinders with good water jackets.

it was pointed out to me that the transfer size suffers a bit in order to get it in a stock appearing package. maybe not a big deal on a serval?

Thats kinda what i thought that it looked like stock cylinders but the performance of a several. I mean it will always be fun to have people wondering what the hell was on that motor, i get a better view on the comparison of a cub an a several an wampus now. I want something to be able to trail an mostly dune an open areas.

So i guess what im after now is if i do the same kit as in question would it be best to do no port work or little to be able to trail, an would it still be good for hill shoots?
