  1. Wait... there is another site that talk's banshee's? Huh never heard of it before....
  2. This was extremely helpful. I was not too sure that just fuel would have a part in this. As soon as the engine gets back in to the bike gonna go ahead an compression test it an go from there. Thanks for the info!
  3. Yeah we have been going through everything to check it out. Took it all down to pieces to clean the case out an see whats up in the bottom end. Yeah the bike was bought outside of cali. The motor runs strong an fast as hell before this happened. I have been looking an had a hard time finding any info on the previous builder. Figured this would be a really good place to start. Thanks for the info and help, its greatly appreciated.
  4. so i have a buddy who has had a bike built by JD or just the motor, anyhow he burned a hole through a piston last year. being not very mechanically inclined i decided to help him get back in the sand. so far the cylinders have extensive drag porting, the jetting was set to 55/175 and reed cages had some work done too... its all polished from top to bottom. i guess what im getting at is what should he run for fuel? pump gas caused the detonation. and maybe if anyone knows of these motors built by JD and could maybe help me get a better understanding of what he has here.
  5. this would be cool to do in oregon, even if it does not happen i go with a big group to dune fest every year. would be cool to meet other HQ people there. i would love to attend the HQ ride in OK but as some it is kinda far for us from the PNW. but seeing as it has been a repeat thing for awhile i would like to plan the trip. the people here are what make the trips, so you get a good bunch of guys together an your bound to have a good time one way or another. i could give to shits less about racing, its the hillshoots everywhere that i can not get enough of.
  6. Thats kinda what i thought that it looked like stock cylinders but the performance of a several. I mean it will always be fun to have people wondering what the hell was on that motor, i get a better view on the comparison of a cub an a several an wampus now. I want something to be able to trail an mostly dune an open areas. So i guess what im after now is if i do the same kit as in question would it be best to do no port work or little to be able to trail, an would it still be good for hill shoots?
  7. im looking at going to a 421 serval an debating on waht kit to go with when i saw these kits. i mean besides the stock appearance an the claimed more bottom end than a serval kit, is it worth it an is anyone else running these an in comparison to the serval whats the difference all around? thanks for any input in advance.
