Drturbodiesel Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 Hey welcome to banshee hq. I'm a new member aswell. I just figured I share my simalar experience. I recently bought one that's doin almost the exact same thing. I determined I have weak compression on the side doin that. Mine is exactly like it came new no mods and never been rebuilt. It doesent matter tho if it's tame mild or wild like some of the other guys said I would chech compression on both sides and compare as a starting point. Then move on to leak down if that's good. If leak down and compressin are good then I woul move on to fuel and spark. Good luck let us know what u find. Quote
BAMF87 Posted September 18, 2011 Author Report Posted September 18, 2011 I took the bike for a ride today and it wouldnt idle and then it started revving real high on its own at idle. when i would try to ride it would bog and cut out from 0 to about 3/4 throttle then kick in and go sometime wouldnt go at all. i brought it home and pulled the carbs and they arent that dirty but i need info on the jets, the main jet says AB290 and the body of the needle jet says 345 0-8, also the pilot jet is 27.5 is this ok for 2300 elevation and just exhaust and intake? BAMF87 Posted September 18, 2011 Author Report Posted September 18, 2011 and it looks like someone took a dremel to the factory reeds Quote
Larry's Shee Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Now it's sounding like an air leak Quote
Jereme6655 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Now it's sounding like an air leak x2......if it starts reving up on its own then you have an air leak in your motor. 2stroke motors....when leaned out (not enough fuel)....will actually naturally "free-rev" or "run away." This is not a good situation as your fuel and oil is mixed together and when you are not getting enough fuel to your pistons your pistons will begin to scrape on the cylinder walls and cause chaos in your motor. This will cause you to have to rebuild your topend (possibly your bottom end if your bearings cant take the abuse of lack of oil) way way sooner than you ever anticipated.... Quote
BAMF87 Posted September 20, 2011 Author Report Posted September 20, 2011 here is a pic of the reeds and here is the jet from the right carb Quote

Don't ride your shee no more & yes you have an air leak. Get a leakdown tester & check for leaks. Find the leak & fix it before it cost you alot of money. Speaking from experience. Quote
Drturbodiesel Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Uhh where's ur reeds and screws? Quote
BAMF87 Posted September 21, 2011 Author Report Posted September 21, 2011 I took them off for the picture. Thx for the info guys I'll find the leak hopeful this weekend when I have time. Does anyone know if the jet sizes are fine for my elevation? Quote
