Compression help

Recommended Posts

its a 2000 that has never had new rings so im wondering if i should tear it down and fresh up the top end, and no madder how many times i kick it it will only go to about 100-105 psi

then you prolly just need new rings pull the head off and check piston to cylinder clearence and make sure ur cylinder isnt scored up

what is the difference between cylinders? generally 90psi is the rebuild point, but a good seated set that gets regular use and no sticky build-up can pump out good right up until the day they snap from being worn down. a quick check is the best way to be safe, and you might want to just plan on a re-ring

im not ported all stock banshee, and i have no clue on my sea level, im in michigan if that helps. and if 90 is the rebuild point im ordering rings today lol

where at in michigan? 100 is gettin pretty low....but its not totally to the rebuild point. and depending if the rings are what has worn or if the cylinders have worn down into a egg shape from natural wear.......just ordering rings could be just a bandaide fix....
