Larry's Shee
Describe EXACTLY how you performed the test.
3Yamaha5Banshee0
i took out a spark plug and i hooked a compression gauge to the sparkplug hole on the head and i kicked it 3 times with the key off.

3Yamaha5Banshee0
its a 2000 that has never had new rings so im wondering if i should tear it down and fresh up the top end, and no madder how many times i kick it it will only go to about 100-105 psi

3Yamaha5Banshee0
i did that and all i got was about 105 psi
AKheathen
what is the difference between cylinders? generally 90psi is the rebuild point, but a good seated set that gets regular use and no sticky build-up can pump out good right up until the day they snap from being worn down. a quick check is the best way to be safe, and you might want to just plan on a re-ring
Larry's Shee
Are you ported? Ex timing affects test also
vifferman
Doesn't elevation affect timing too? What is the elevation where you live?
