woodsracer56 Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 i was on looking for banshee performance parts on ebay to get ideas, and it brought up a coil kit, it was telling me all sorts of good things like crisper throttle, better burn, 800% more spark? is all of this true? would it do anything for my mildly modded banshee? woodsracer56 Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 not a fuckin thing. lol. any ideas on anything i could do other than the big bore kits? Quote
sangheraent Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 why don't you get some carbs? your sig says your runing stockers. Quote
woodsracer56 Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 i bought the nology coil and hotwires. but sure if it will do anything, will find out soon enough ok. let me know what you think. Quote

sangheraent Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 oh really, I went to 30mms form stock and I noticed a decent gain throughout and plenty more up top. I have an agressive trail port 4mill designed for more midrange power. Quote

volcrano Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 26mms work fine on stock cyl 4 mil motors.i have stockers and it pulls hard.i had 28 pwks.pain in the ass to keep tuned,it had a little more top but seemed to lack a lil bottom.it depends what ur riding style is.flatslides will give better throttle response, but the bigger u go u lose bottom end.i mean,if u got $2-300 u wanna spend on carbs go ahead.theyll make a difference, but worth the gain, idk.i had 34mm on this bike too and it was a turd in the woods, hence the reason went back to stockers.plus buying tons of jets for different carbs aint cheap.i thought ur question was do i need bigger carbs.u dont NEED them.if u want em buy em. woodsracer56 Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 if you want more bottom end, how about going with a 14 tooth front sprocket. that 16/40 with 22" tires is really killing your low end power. what im really looking for is to be able to go 100mph, and have it be rideable on the trails. we have a huge field where we play and race for braging rights, but i cant say i do it so often that i want to put a 421 cheetah kit on it. im pretty sure this winter im going to tear it all apart and do the stroker kit and what ever else i can do bolt on thats under 500. ive had it for 4 or 5 weeks now and have put 4500$ into it lol. BrockMoto Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 If your building this winter... Then stop spending money now.... Build once build right Quote
woodsracer56 Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 sorry but going 100 and trail rideable will never go together. it will cost more money than you think to hit 100mph. didnt know that actually..... my buddy sent me a gearing calculator and it said my gearing would get me to 100mph. i see a lot of good knowlageable posts by you zilla, what do you think i should do to have a fast but quick trail banshee? volcrano Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 if ur wanting speed, which u might have to go higher than that to go 100, like a 17/40 or 38 i would think, and have trail power build like a 485 pv cheetah lol.that would be too much in the woods dude.seriously, build a 421 serval.u could prob rock 16/40 gearing with 22s.i agree with zilla tho, that gearing is killing ur bottom end.how does it perform?i got 15/40 with 22s and its not the easiest in the woods, but if i go lower it wants to eject me lol.my buddies like run a 13.id need a wheelie bar lol.
