CraigP Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Yesterday I got brand new Works shocks and installed them. I rode for a little and then realized that there was oil caked on where the cylinder meets the pipes. I took off the pipes and there is oil on the bottom of them and the front part of the cylinder has oil coated on it. The oil doesnt pour out, it gradually just leaks out, like if u look at the cylinder it all looks fine. I use DG Pipes (I dont personally like them, they were on it when i bought the banshee), could the pipes be the problem? Problems/ Solutions? Quote
CraigP Posted March 6, 2011 Author Report Posted March 6, 2011 Does anybody know if different pipes have different orings? Quote
CraigP Posted March 6, 2011 Author Report Posted March 6, 2011 Anyone wanna trade pipes for some DG pipes? Quote
CraigP Posted March 6, 2011 Author Report Posted March 6, 2011 Stock pipes r the only pipes i wouldnt trade DG for Quote
06specialedition Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 X2 on the new o-rings. If you don't like the DG's put them up for sale on here....maybe someone will snatch them up. Quote
CraigP Posted March 6, 2011 Author Report Posted March 6, 2011 I would sell the pipes but i dont have enough money to buy the pipes I want. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Will that solve the problem? That and running your mix at 40:1 with a good oil such as Klotz R50!!!!!!!!! Quote
BigRed350x Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 All small-bore pipes use the same o-rings. You can pick up an O-ring and spring kit from RMATV pretty cheap. I try and replace my pipe o-rings once a season, or any time I do a major rebuild. - Jared Quote
midlifecrisis Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Every top end kit comes with a set of o rings, use them up. I get them from a hydraulics dealer if I need them before top end time. Mine used to do the same thing, but I had to find a solution as well, as I got sick of cleaning the front of the bike so much. Quote

sstaton1983 Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 i have what i think are dg's. they have no brand or marking but look just like dg and have dg silencers.they dont have a groove for o rings so you may want to check. Quote
