TimJ Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Can this be fixed or do I need another case? Tim http://www.flickr.com/photos/59243189@N05/5426612672/ Quote
okbeast Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 How deep is it? About the depth of the little pin on the outer bearing race I would assume. It could probably be filled in with some epoxy, or weld it up then smooth it back out to the radius of the bearing. Quote
stacman450 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 fill it in or weld it.. should be fine... Quote
sheerider1026 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 why do anything to it?? i would put a dab of yamabond on it at the most.. and run it as it is.. dont see hat its going to hurt.. if it where mine i wouldnt worry about it Quote

Other wise you run the risk of making the bearing surface out of round. It isnt like the crank directly runs on the engine cases. All it does is suport the bearing race. Quote

sheerider1026 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 i would be afraid that filling it with epoxy or jb weld would cause more damage.. just think about the vibration this area see's. let a piece of jb weld or epoxy break loose and bounce around in the motor.. not good.. leave it alone..
