How deep is it? About the depth of the little pin on the outer bearing race I would assume. It could probably be filled in with some epoxy, or weld it up then smooth it back out to the radius of the bearing.

why do anything to it?? i would put a dab of yamabond on it at the most.. and run it as it is.. dont see hat its going to hurt.. if it where mine i wouldnt worry about it

x2. Other wise you run the risk of making the bearing surface out of round. It isnt like the crank directly runs on the engine cases. All it does is suport the bearing race.

welding does all kinds of strange things to aluminum, especially cast. if you are real paranoid, fill it with jb weld or similar and shape to suit.

i would be afraid that filling it with epoxy or jb weld would cause more damage.. just think about the vibration this area see's. let a piece of jb weld or epoxy break loose and bounce around in the motor.. not good.. leave it alone..

OK I just wanted to double check. I am doing a total rebuild and dont want to dump all that money and it not be right. Tim
