eadams450 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 (edited) Im wanting to get all new plastics for my banshee but i cant decide what to go with. I wanna stick with blue thats all ik Edited January 22, 2011 by eadams450 Quote
CraigP Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Get fullbore plastics if u dont have an oversized gas tank and if u dont mind not having front fenders. Between OEM and Maier... definitely get Maier. Maier plastics are stronger (ALOT stronger) and they have more curves in the plastic which makes theyu look better. Quote
eadams450 Posted January 22, 2011 Author Report Posted January 22, 2011 alright well im getting an oversized gas tank. So whats some positives and negatives with oem and maier. any suggestions would be appreciated Quote
Fast-Fibers Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Oem, Maier has a lot of fitment issues. Quote
Glenyboy Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) OEM all the way just got some maier tank covers and rad cover and the fitment is terrible, the tank covers have a huge gap between the side part of the front fender and the rad cover goes nowhere near anything almost an inch gap on the top hole. I don't know what UFO plastics are like for the banshee they have a good fitment on mx bikes I've had, and are cheaper than maier and OEM. Edited January 23, 2011 by Glenyboy Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 my buddy bought black race cut front maiers, maier grill, and maier rear and all seem to be fine. Fitment wasnt terrible. Cody Quote
T_Shee Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 ive seen some fitment issues from maier plastics also. the ufo's ive seen look pretty nice. dunno if lakers will work with oversized tanks or not but they are really nice also.. whatever you get slap a grille from jds customs in it and it will really set it apart Quote
eadams450 Posted January 23, 2011 Author Report Posted January 23, 2011 alright thanks guys. i think ill go with the oem plastics. There not terribly priced. im building it just for long dune rides so it doesnt need to be to pretty....maybe a lil though. Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I've used UFO, and OEM platics, and both look good/fit good. The Maier's that I've saw, look like crap, and fit like crap. You get what you pay for. Quote
Thack82 Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 I have the Maier Custom "Raptor" Style Front plastic, and new Maier OEM Style front and rear set of plastic so I can switch them in and out depending on my mood and it all fits great!!! Quote
bansheesandrider Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Just put Maier tank and radiator covers on the wife's bike because she wanted pink and I didn't want paint on her bike. As was mentioned the gap between the tank covers and the factory fenders is a little big. The radiator cover flares out away from the tank cover on the right side, but I think I can corrrect this with a heat gun. I think the UFO stuff is pretty decent if you can live with white, black, or blue, as that is all it comes in. Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 I have the Maier Custom "Raptor" Style Front plastic, and new Maier OEM Style front and rear set of plastic so I can switch them in and out depending on my mood and it all fits great!!! Haha, knew this was coming. Anywho... I would get OEM, laker, fullbore, or fast fibers. The last two sets of maier's that my buddy bought were awful. The holes sometimes were over an inch off. Their quality is terrible, and frankly, any company that makes raptor plastics for a banshee should be put out of business... Quote
